Top Ten Rules to Follow When Buying a Home--Part 1 - 09/16/08 02:42 PM
When looking to buy a home, there are some ground rules that are just a good idea to follow. At the bottom of this blog, there is a  great top ten list of rules to follow when buying a home that was written by someone at the National Association of Realtors. I don't think I could say it better myself.
But since it is a buyers market in the country as well as here in Ashland, Medford and Jackson county, I was thinking I would give my take on some of these Rules.

Train Service Through Ashland - 09/07/08 04:12 PM
 
It looks like there is some movement on whether or not the train will start running through Ashland again. A petition was filed to let another provider start running the service. As a fan of railways as a mode of transportation, I am at odds with how I feel about the train coming through Ashland again. This line carries little other than lumber from Northern California to Roseburg.
It is not a passenger train...and the freight can still go by rail..it just has to take a very circuitous route up the other side of the Cascades, and over through Springfield.

Photos are a matter of perspective. For example this lovely puppy standing on a sidewalk. (Courtesy of wYnand) Taken with a fisheye lens, the photo becomes vastly more interesting. The curving sidewalk, the buildings and the sky.
I believe as Realtors, we should recognize how the photos we take can effect the look of the houses we are trying to market.
If you can afford to hire (and can find) a professional photographer...do it.
If, on the other hand, you take your own photos ...remember perspective.
