How Would You Like a Drunkin Chicken for Thanksgiving? - 10/19/07 05:05 PM
Thanksgiving has already passed here in Canada, but you all in the US are probably just starting to get geared up for it. Thanksgiving tradition is typically to serve turkey and/or ham, but sometimes a turkey can be too much for just a few people. Well I have an alternative for smaller groups or couples.
It's no secret that I am not a big meat eater, but my beau is, and he has introduced me to a lot of new things since we've been together. One of his favorites (next to wild meat) is the Drunkin Chicken. It is pretty much exactly how it sounds … (12 comments)

Thanksgiving Surprises Part III - Lonely And Scared and Feeling Helpless - 10/16/07 04:11 PM
Ok, this will be the final installment of my Thanksgiving weekend posts. I've been trying to write this for a week now and I haven't quite been able to say (type) how I exactly feel about this. Thanks to Sarah Girl Cooper and her creative use of RES (Real Estate Shows) I decided that this would be the perfect way to show you what it was that had such a profound affect on me while I was at our family cabin for the holiday weekend.
We were introduced to this bear cub the day after we arrived at the cabin. He was perched almost … (8 comments)

Blog Action Day has finally arrived and I am happy to say that Calgary is a city committed to doing their part for the environment...Are You? There are many ways in which you can participate to help create a greener Calgary. It doesn't take a lot of time once you make the decision to do your part. It could be overwhelming to make the change and try to do everything, so start small and pick a few things that you know won't turn your life upside down. As you get use to doing one thing, you can add something else. Here is a list … (14 comments)

A Thanksgiving of Many Seasons and Surprises - Part II - 10/11/07 07:21 PM
Travelling to our cabin in BC is about a 7 hour drive (approximately 400 miles) through mountain passes and in that time you can experience many different kinds of wildlife and variety of weather conditions. When we set out on Friday morning in Calgary it was cool, yet sunny, the grass was still green and the trees were fall colors of orange, yellow and firey red. I love this time of year when the leaves have changed color.
As we make our way through the first half of the drive the sun was shining and you could see the many colors of fall. … (14 comments)

A Thanksgiving of Many Seasons & Surprises - Part I - 10/10/07 03:25 PM
I've just returned from a long overdue couple of days off. I set out with my niece and my Mom and Dad to spend the Thanksgiving weekend at our cabin in Christina Lake, BC. We left Calgary's green grass and mild weather to head into the Rocky Mountains where they were alerting travellers of a severe snow fall. Luckily we made it through Banff National Park with just a little bit of rain and clear, mostly dry roads.

We arrived in Radium, BC and, as is the case a lot of the time in this area, there was wildlife running and grazing through the streets of town. … (10 comments)

Photo Imaging Frames - How To Create Them? - 10/01/07 02:21 PM
Hey there!
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I am trying to find a program that I can create frames and drop shadows to the images I use in blogs to give them a little more "umph". Jeff Turner has shared how he adds a little pizazz to his images using MAC's iWork '08 program. I've also been told that MS Word 2007 has some create photo editing features. I am seriously considering making the switch to MAC, but in the meantime I would like to find a similar product for use with my PC.
I know effects like what Jeff has … (20 comments)
