Yard and Garage Sales - Tis The Season - And We Do It BIG!!! - 05/23/11 05:09 PM
Did you know that garage sales were once classified as the biggest white collar crime in America?  Did you claim the income on your taxes last year?   I'm not judging...I'm just saying
Besides the everyday neighborhood and community sales, there is one in Indiana that is a bargain hunters dream:
June 1- 5, 2011              HISTORIC U.S. 40 YARD SALE

Historic National Road (US $) runs from St. Louis to Baltimore and cuts right through Indiana.
824 miles of stuff looking for a new home.  Antiques, furnitures, produce and just about anything you can imagine.
It runs from Dawn til Dusk … (0 comments)

Indiana is BEST at Budgeting - 05/19/11 08:59 PM
The stats are out.
Every state in the U.S. is projected to have a deficit in 2012.  Many states are going broke, cutting programs and hiking tuitions.
Who has the lowest projected deficit, you might ask?????

Indiana's projected deficit is only 2%.  (This is a percentage of the fiscal budget for 2012)
The next closest is Iowa at 3.5%
Then Idaho at 3.9%
Evidently - the "I"'s have what it takes to control spending.

Who's in trouble?  No real surprises
Nevada at 45.2%
New Jersey at 37.4%
Texas at 31.5%
California at 29.3%

Glad to be a Hoosier!

Racing into May for the 100th time! - 05/11/11 05:41 PM

The theme of Indiana in May is black and white.

It's time for the Indianapolis 500 and all the festivities that entails - it's not just the cars zooming around the track - there's a lot more going on.
These events take place in and around the Indianapolis Motorspeedway and Indianapolis in general.  Take part in a Hoosier tradition - you have to do it at least once!
May 5th - The 500 Festival Mini - Marathon
May 7th - the Finish Line 5K and Allison Transmission Balloon Festival
May 14th  - Indianapolis Star Opening Day at the Track … (1 comments)

Farmer in the Dell - Farmers Markets and Home Delivery - 05/02/11 11:11 AM
It's that time of year when I start fantasizing about Indiana Sweet Corn......

Farmers Markets are my favorite thing from spring through fall.  I have a link under Miscellaneous Information for all the Farmers Markets in Indiana.  (on the www.indianaresourcecenter.com website) or you can go directly from here at http://www.farmersmarketonline.com/fm/Indiana.htm.
For those in the Indianapolis Metro area or Ft Wayne - there is a new delivery service available. How great is that?  For as little as $35, you can have a bin of locally grown, organic fresh produce delivered to your door.  This Indianapolis based company is called Green B.E.A.N. Delivery.
