Texas Is Still A Good Value For Homebuyers - 11/14/08 05:17 PM
According to the Housing Affordability Index (HAI) -- Texas has a better value than the rest of the country when purchasing a home. 
Check out the index for first-time homebuyers http://recenter.tamu.edu/data/misc/afford2.html.  The Texas Real Estate Center is a great source of information about all of the Texas markets.  I closely watch the Austin real estate market. 
While real estate in many parts of the nation are way down -- we are doing ok in Austin.  Still an affordable market. However, Texas ranks 10th in the nation on foreclosures posted in October 2008.  A significant number of our foreclosures are clustered in the North of our MLS … (0 comments)
