I am often asked by clients " What is a Short Sale "?
Here is a simplified example.
Let's say someone bought a home back in 2006 for $225,000
They still owe $200,000.
Today it is worth $150,000
The owner can no longer make the payments and is several months behind, the bank has not yet foreclosed on it.
The seller gets an offer for $150,000 and has agreed to pay a 6% commission to be split between the two Realtor's involved in the sale.
The 6% commission = $9,000
Very often back taxes a due, let's just say $ 2,000 back … (1 comments)
