Austin focused on property on Lady Bird Lake. - 05/18/12 05:01 PM
The City of Austin is negotiating to buy about 2 acres of prime land along Lady Bird Lake that it has coveted for years and is now occupied by Joe's Crab Shack restaurant.
City officials said this week that a specific use has not been identified for the 1.8-acre tract. One potential use, among others, could be as a staging area during construction of the proposed Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk Trail project that is set to start this summer, city officials say.
The City Council is scheduled to vote next week on whether to authorize a purchase agreement with the property … (0 comments)

He decided to buy 10 homes with an average value of 100,000 dollars and keep them leased out until he was ready to retire. He now owns 15 homes and they are … (5 comments)

CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, goes renewable - 05/02/12 12:49 PM
CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, GOES 100% RENEWABLE   "The City of Austin, Texas, has become the largest municipality in the U.S. to power all of its facilities using only renewable energy.
And, a great story:   As of Oct. 1 all of the city’s municipal facilities subscribe to Austin Energy’s GreenChoice renewable energy product. In all, the City of Austin has bought about 400 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy. The City of Houston is the only U.S. municipality to buy more renewable power. However, Houston’s 438 million kWh accounts for just 34 percent of its energy use, according to an Austin … (0 comments)
