Justin and Anissa worked for over a year to make their dream of home ownership come true. They made some tough choices, saved their money, paid off past debt and yesterday signed the paperwork and picked up the keys on their brand new home in the Summerlyn community in Leander Texas.
A Dream come This is their first home and they are so excited. Congratulations to you Justin and Anissa! This weekend is move in time.

By LISA WAHLGREN A contingent of Austin Realtors say listing agents should be clearly identified when brokers and agents publicize each other's listings on their websites. With two of the city's prominent luxury brokers leading the charge, they've asked the Austin Board of Realtors (ABoR) to change current policies governing the display of Internet Data Exchange (IDX) listings. An equally vocal group of ABoR members contends that promoting other brokers' listings on their websites is one thing, but promoting their agents is quite another. The City of Austin is negotiating to buy about 2 acres of prime land along Lady Bird Lake that it has coveted for years and is now occupied by Joe's Crab Shack restaurant. City officials said this week that a specific use has not been identified for the 1.8-acre tract. One potential use, among others, could be as a staging area during construction of the proposed Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk Trail project that is set to start this summer, city officials say. The City Council is scheduled to vote next week on whether to authorize a purchase agreement with the property (0 comments)

Austin’s jobless rate drops to 5.5 percent, new data shows By American-Statesman Staff | Friday, May 18, 2012, 09:56 AM Led by a rebound in the construction industry, Austin continued its steady job growth in April, helping the metro area’s unemployment rate drop to 5.5 percent, its lowest level in more than three years, according to the Texas Workforce Commission’s monthly report released today. The Austin area added 6,300 jobs overall in April for a 2.4 percent annual growth rate, according to the Workforce Commission. I am sure you have given it some thought. Question is have you landed on a plan. My wife and I have been using Real Estate as a major vehicle toward retirement for a number of years. A decade or so ago I had a conversation with a man with a plan for retirement. He told me that he wanted to retire with one million dollars. About Congress Bridge Bats Austin The Congress Avenue Bridge spans Town Lake in downtown Austin and is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. The colony is estimated at 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats. Each night from mid-March to November, the bats emerge from under the bridge at dusk to blanket the sky as they head out to forage for food. This event has become one of the most spectacular and unusual tourist attractions in Texas. The most spectacular bat flights are during hot, dry August nights, when multiple columns of bats emerge. CITY OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, GOES 100% RENEWABLE "The City of Austin, Texas, has become the largest municipality in the U.S. to power all of its facilities using only renewable energy. And, a great story: As of Oct. 1 all of the city’s municipal facilities subscribe to Austin Energy’s GreenChoice renewable energy product. In all, the City of Austin has bought about 400 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy. The City of Houston is the only U.S. municipality to buy more renewable power.
