B/P Services Group, Inc has just completed a kitchen renovation project in North Palm Beach, Florida.  We gutted the kitchen down, removed the soffits and added knockdown texture to the walls and ceiling.  The new cabinets are custom hand built using maple 3/4" plywood construction and maple hardwood doors.  The upper cabinets are 42" and have European style hinges.  The base cabinets have Accuride undermounted drawer slides self closing, non-slamming.

  Kitchen Before

Kitchen After

Granite countertops and undermounted stainless steel sink accent the new cabinets.  The pantry door was replaced with a 6 panel door and the shelves were finished with 3/4" maple plywood.  If you are interested in quality workmanship at a reasonable price, contact B/P Services Group, Inc for your next project.  We service Palm Beach and Broward County.

B/P Services Group, Inc had taken on a bathroom renovation and kitchen ceiling repair in West Palm Beach through a referral.  The owner was very nice and happy to find a contractor that handles both mold issues as well as general contracting

The kitchen ceiling, as shown, had a damaged drywall ceiling due to the apt above's water heater that gave way.

After doing a physical inspection, the ceiling in the adjacent bathroom looked a little discolored, but not black to the point of obvious.  I made an inspection hole in the ceiling and behold!, mold throughout the discoloration on the backside of the drywall.  Thought it was over?  nah!

Mold on the top side of the drywall ceiling!

We basically gutted the bathroom not to take any chances whatsoever.

In the smaller bathroom, (which we were originally going to replace the vanity, tiles, toilet and mirror) we started to remove the mirror and vanity and found this behind it!

One cannot see what is going on behind the vanity cabinet and mirror.  The bathroom appeared to be weathered but in good condition. We had to gut this bathroom as well.

The molded drywall was removed, bagged and disposed.  The wood studs and framing were cleaned using a microbial and covered with a shellac based primer to avoid mold growing back at a later time.

We also ran an air scrubber for 2 days in each room to keep things clean before the mold clearance testing.

B/P Services Group, Inc has just completed this storage garage addition from the ground up.  The owner had provided his own drawings and was ready to go when we signed our contract.  the pitfalls and lag times of the builing permitting process can often discourage an owner from moving forward with his/her project.  We faced a few challenges with this one.

The home was located on a parcel with well water and septic tank.  That is already 2 strikes against us with permitting.  The city wanted a separate application with the health department because we were within 25 feet of the well.  Next the septic which wasn't really an issue was on the other side of the house.  BUT, they wanted to know if we intended to put a bathroom in the garage.  (Ever heard of that one!)  NO.

My arguement was that the slab did not have to sprayed because it was not interior living space.  Usually, the slab is sprayed for termites.  They were worried about the chemical getting into the well.

Once we got that out of the way, we proceeded to get our borings completed with our geo engineer.  The land was delveloped in old Delray Beach.  I guess the orignal "builder" threw whatever he wanted in as fill because it we had to take out about 3.5 feet of soil and replace it with #1 fill and compact it to 98%.  Not a big deal, but it was still a pitfall of something happening.

Once we got passed that it was pretty smooth sailing.

We laid out the forms...

Then poured the slab....

Then we put up the walls to the tie beam...Added trusses and sheathing

And this is what it looks like today....

B/P Services Group, Inc, has just completed this Boca Raton Bathroom renovation.  Actually, this was more of a makeover.  The builder-grade vanities were removed and replaced with custom built cabinetry made in our Lake Worth woodshop.  The vanities, as you may already know are made of solid maple doors and 3/4" maple plywood box construction and finished to a customer selected stain color.  We do NOT use any particle board at all in any of our woodworking. The countertops were changed from cultured marble to Level (2) granite.

This what the soaking tub looked like before.

This is what the Jetta Whirlpool tub looks like now.

This granite was used for the Jetta whirlpool bathtub (provided by our colleagues at dougstubs.com) decking, shower sill and window sills.  The shower was resized to include a small seat and accomodate (2) separate shower head controls.  The glass enclosure is 3/8" glass with a frameless shower door with brushed nickel finish.

This is what the shower looked like before....

This is what it looks like now...

The homeowners had a not-so-nice place to put their "dirty laundry"

We took care of that right away...with the help of a little intuition!

The makeup area had to go too.......'

We turned it something a little more appealing...

The vanities looked like this when we arrived...

Joe Lauria turned them into this....

We enjoyed our time working these homeowners and hope they enjoy their new bathroom makeover.

B/P Services Group, Inc recently visited a prospect who was clueless on what to do when his air conditioner unit located on the roof of the townhouse he owned started leaking water while out of town.  Our first observation was the fact that this needed to be taken care of forthwith to prevent further damage.  As a precaution, I always don a mask when looking at mold jobs.  There was mold spreading everywhere and as I was looking around and measuring, the owner was following me trying to direct me on what can be "covered up" and what HAS to be replaced.  See, he had the unit for sale for a while and he wanted to unload it for whatever he got for it.  I asked him very curiously, "cover up?"  He said, "yeah, cover it it up with Kilz.  That's what I do when I have a small leak."

This was in no way, shape or form to have Kilz anywhere near this place.  I mean, this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.  This place needed to be gutted down to the studs, have all insulation removed and replace the HVAC unit as well as all of the carpet and tile flooring.

You can imagine what it smells like in here just by the photos.

This place was just crawling with mold and was in need of a level 3 restoration.  Forget protocol.  It was obvious this was a complete "gutout". We could have handled the entire job under one roof since we are also a certified general contractor.

We did not get awarded this job which could have been a blessing from above.  The owner was not willing to pull any permits and wanted a company to come in and cover up as much as possible. We do not do that sort of thing or get involved with clients who want to do things as they see them, rather than the right way things should be done as a certified mold remediation contractor. I really feel sorry for the buyer of this place.  If they do not get a real good inspector who does due diligence on this place, they could be looking for trouble down the road.  I doubt he would disclose the mold issue.  He seemed to be the kind of guy who would do that.  Needless to say, I booked out of there in disgust.

Usually, in a case like this, one might want to look for a mold certified environmentalist.  This person is qualified to write protocol and direct us to what needs to be replaced and what can just be cleaned in order to bring the home back to an inhabitable environment.

If any realtors in the South Florida area need any type of advice on mold or structural issues, please feel to contact me.

Good luck all!

This is part 2 of the Lake Worth Restoration...the bathrooms!

Below is the Master Custom Bathroom Vanity.  The previous one was removed due to the 3 inches of water that flood the home.  We built the bathroom vanity to the exact specifications of the homeowner.  She wanted to see no drawers from the outside, but needed 2 small ones on the inside.

So we built it the way she wanted it!

The bathroom vanity was also constructed using the B/P Services Construction standard...3/4" maple plywood and solid maple doors.  The stain was also custom selected.  The new vanities were installed above the new ceramic tile floor.  The top was a Crema Marfil marble top with an ogee edging.  The sinks are undermounted Kohler 2210 and the facets are Moen Stainless steel with an 8" spread.  The mirrors are made of the same maple and stained to match the vanity.

This was the tile selected for the Master Bathroom shower enclosure.  Then owner chose a large tile, this cuts down of the grout joints, with 5 deco tiles and a listello.

The shower door below is a frameless shower door made of 3/8" glass and a fixed glass panel with a brushed nickel handle.  The window sill is a matching travertine sill.

Below is the Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom vanity follows the same construction as the master.  The top is a blue granite with a large bevel edging and a Kohler 2210 undermounted sink.  The homeowner also insisted on a drawer in the last cabinet and this is what we gave her!

Pretty Cool huh?

Below is the Guest Bathroom enclosure

The guest bathroom bath enclosure was also replaced.  In replacing the existing tiles, B/P Services Group, Inc takes the extra effort to insure a great installation.  We use only Hardi Backer board in the wet areas to insure a mold free environment.  Cement board can be used, but when you hire a contractor who knows better, Hardi board is the way to go.  The price difference does not come close to the value it adds.

A reverse osmosis unit gave way one day while the homeowner was out visiting.  They came home to find over three inches of water throughout the entire home.  The water was extracted and the carpets dried out, however, the damage was already done. B/P Services Group, Inc was called in to exam the situation and speak to the homeowners about the restoration process.  24" of drywall was removed around the permiter of the home to insure that all the damaged drywall was removed.  Any damaged furring was replaced and the exposed area was treated with a mold inhibitor microbial covering.  This was to insure there will be no mold issues in the future.

All of the flooring was removed including ceramic tile, carpet and wood flooring.  We replaced the ceramic tile floor with a rectified, porcelain 24" x 24" tile set diagonal in a mortar bed simulating a marble tile installation.

We also replaced the standard baseboards with a 5 1/4" baseboard above the finished floor.

The kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities were made from particle board and were coming apart due to the water damage.  The new cabinets and vanities have NO particle board whatsoever.  They were made from 3/4" maple plywood construction in B/P Services Lake Worth Cabinet Shop.  A frameless European style cabinet is the standard construction in our shop.  Where others use 3/8" and 1/2" we use 3/4" construction and shelving throughout.  Salice European 6 way adjustable hinges were used on the doors.   The drawer slides are Accuride undermounted EZ-Close.  This is what makes our cabinet construction better than the rest. The value is seen in every aspect of the cabinet installation. They are also priced at what others sell there "cabinets".

The cabinets sit on the newly tiled floor.  This compensates the added height of the mortar tile job which adds 5/8 to 3/4".

The granite was installed using a 1" large bevel edge in place of a standard bullnose.  The sink is a Meltini with offset bowls and the faucet is a Moen pullout stainless steel.  A 1/2 HP Insinkerator garbage disposal was also used.

Below is the custom pantry.  A Lazy Susan double tier on the top and the bottom has (4) Pullout drawers with undermounted Accuride EZ Close Slides.

Oh, by the way, the reverse osmosis system was not reinstalled.  The owner did not want it back in.  They will drink bottled water from now on.

B/P Services Group, Inc just completed this restoration located in Margate, FL.  There was a broken pipe which caused mold to grow and damage the cabinets, walls and flooring.  BP went in and removed the cabinetry, flooring and repaired the drywall.  The custom cabinets were manufactured using Birdseye Maple with 3/4" Maple Plywood boxes and Accuride self-closing, non-slamming slides.  The stain color was custom mixed by our associates at Constantine Wood Center and applied by our finishers.  New 42" x 12" deep upper cabinets made this kitchen makeover all worth while.  All of the lower cabinets (except for the sink cabinet) have pullout drawers for easy access to all of the contents without having to empty things out for those hard to reach items.  The granite was a Level (3) Absolute Black with a double undermounted stainless steel sink and Moen pullout faucet with soap dispenser.  New undercounter lighting adds the finishing touches to this well deserved kitchen.  The owner is as happy as can be and loves the new look.

Above the refridgerator is a slotted cabinet for baking and serving trays.

The pantry was built to be 36" wide with (4) pullout drawers and enough storage to hold your every need.

The above microwave cabinet protrudes 2" to give some dimension.

On the other side of the raised bartop, a storage area for childrens toys, books and accessories!

f you are looking for a fresh new look to the same-old tile but want the look of marble, we have the solution for you!  At B/P Services Group, Inc, we perform custom installations without breaking the bank. The flooring you see here is not marble, it is actually a rectified tile set in a mortar bed.  The only difference is the material cost.  This material was under $3.00 per square foot.

This staircase is solid oak using a custom stain.

This was the order our client gave to us upon the start of a bathroom remodel in Coral Springs.  The vanity was custom built using 3/4" Maple Plywood and Hardwood Maple Doors custom finished with granite top w/ Ogee edging.  The doors are actually (3) layers of solid maple to give a 3-D effect.  They were so heavy we had to install 3 hinges per door.  For more information on B/P Services Group, Inc, click here.

Facing the other side of the vanity is an armoire matching the finish and granite.

Behind the armoire is a commode room with a solid ash door finished to match the vanity and armoire.
