Talk about exceeding expectations. Ok, so if you have not heard of RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) get familiar. This is going to be the go to trade association for stagers. In this case your sense of smell. Have you ever noticed how you smell a room you walk into before you see it? DO NOT under estimate to power of smell! 
Step #1:
Clean your carpets and by that I mean have them cleaned. A regular rent to steam grocery store model is not going to freshen your carpets, especially if you have pets, smoke or strong food smells.
