Favorite Tech Tools - 07/28/06 08:15 AM
Here is a reprint of an article I wrote in my online newsletter last March. Having the right tech tools helps my business grow and helps your business grow. Here are some of my favorites: Plantronics Discovery™ 640 Bluetooth® Headset www.Plantronics.com Using this with my Treo 650 is a joy. I would urge anyone who is still wired to their cell phone or who must hold it while talking to get this amazingly small unit. While on the phone, it frees me up to move around my office, talk from my balcony overlooking the lake, move easily through airports….and more. (2 comments)
Blogs vs. "Real Estate Blogs" - 07/28/06 07:27 AM
Blogging has helped the businesses of my CyberStars(r) (www.CyberStar.net)...and my business as well. There are a number of companies now that offer to create a real estate blog. These blogs are, in most cases, different from "ordinary" blogs, and it can be confusing to decide whether to go with an ordinary blog or pay the often high prices to a real estate blog. The following article by CyberStar(r) Teri Isner of Orlando, FL (www.TeriIsner.com) makes some good points and might help you decide which way to go when it comes to creating a blog. It appeared recently in my free weekly online (1 comments)
Uncolicited Emails - 07/28/06 06:22 AM
I have noted a disturbing trend lately: unsolicited emails about new properties on the market. It seems as if a number of companies have sprung up that offer this service, and a number of agents are taking advantage of this. Wrong! Any unsolicited email is spam, and you and I know that we don't appreciate spam. My advice: you will create more problems than you will make sales by sending out these unsolicited emails. Here's a better suggestion: Get involved with your local association by going to committee meetings, seminars, conventions, etc. Identify the top agents you encounter, since about 10% of the agents (7 comments)
Looking For Buyers? - 07/27/06 07:27 AM
Many of us are in a "changing market": there just aren't the number of buyers out there as there were in years past. One solution is to make sure that your Web site is maximized to attract buyers. A recent NAR survey found that nearly 80% of home buyers start their search on the Web, so you need to be in the game if you are going to capture your share of buyers. Take an hour today and check your Web site for the following so that you're "in the game: You display your listings in the best possible way: numerous photos and/or a (1 comments)
Attending CRS Courses - 07/25/06 09:13 AM
As a CRS Instructor, I just returned from our annual Instructor Development Workshop. Each of the CRS instructors shared his or her "best stuff," and I learned so much from each of them. It just pointed out to me the value of the CRS courses (expecially the 2 day courses) and the importance of your attending them. Zan Monroe, CRS, for example, shared with us the "Absorption Rate" concept, so important when you are trying to get today's seller's to price their homes correctly in a changing market. A wonderful concept...one that really works and that will help you sell your listings! Jackie (4 comments)

Motorola "Q" Smart Phone - 07/23/06 10:52 AM
MOTOROLA “Q” SMART PHONE Some of the problems I encountered with the Treo 700W included not being able to sync with Outlook, active sync issues, ring tone issues, voicemail problems, constantly re-setting the phone, pushing buttons and not having any response or a delayed response and the list goes on! The new Motorola is a Verizon based phone. It operates using Windows mobile 5.0 technology, has integrated Bluetooth, a speakerphone, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and solid call quality, evdo high speed internet capabilities and a larger ‘qwerty’ keyboard. The Bluetooth hands free actually works for BMW and other vehicles, and best of all, (3 comments)
