Housing Affordability at Historic High
This last weekend I read an article in the North County Times about the housing affordability with regard to buying a home over renting.  The article states that a loan payment on a median-priced house in North San Diego County in 2010 was $1,879.  This figure is slightly higher than 2009 prices, but is the lowest since the mid 1990's with regard to affordability, and lower than the 1980's when interest rates were at double digits.  In many cases, depending on the area, it is more affordable to buy a home rather than rent.
