It's RAIN'N Cats and Dogs in Vancouver WA - 10/30/08 04:21 PM
Vancouver WA is definitely a pet lovable city! We especially enjoy our canine friends. There are many places you can go to enjoy time with them.
First, here is what you need to know about dog parks and leash laws in our fair city!
If you have other pet needs, such as a veterinarian, pet supplies and pet wash salons, check out this great link I found today! Click here to go right to a huge resource page!

I also love our local Humane Society! It's called the Southwest Washington Humane Society. They have events for pets, such as Yappy … (1 comments)

YWCA Clark County Washington Serving Over 10,000 Women, Children and Families Per Year - 10/28/08 04:39 PM
I worked for the YWCA Clark County for five years as their Auction Manager. They have a vibrant marketing department and the auction was their largest fundraiser every year. I'll blog more about their extremely FUNdraising auction at another time.
The YWCA serves over 10,000 women, children and families per year in Clark County, Washington.
Some of the fantastic programs they have are:
SafeChoice (which is an educational program and a safe shelter for the battered women and deals with domestic violence.)
The YWCA also has a HeadStart program for "homeless" children who attend because their Moms are within the SafeChoice program.
There is also an … (0 comments)

Graph of Clark County WA Real Estate Activity Comparing 2007-2008 - 10/28/08 02:46 PM

Here is a comparision of numbers from September year 2007 (in green) to 2008 this year (shown in purple) I got this comparision from our local RMLSWEB Market Action newsletter. We have 12.7 months of inventory sitting on the market to be snapped up by some lucky buyers! This also means that if we did not take one more listing...it would take us 12.7 months to sell our inventory of homes.
As you can see, Clark County is still chugging along. We don't seem to be experiencing the lows that I hear about in the news.

Women of Wine! Realtor Related Gatherings - 10/26/08 04:36 PM
Well, what started out as a few women friends across the related real estate fields gathering for wine on occasion, has now turned into a large club meeting. Monique Eska from Cascade Title has been spearheading this group of realtors, lenders, real estate agents, etc.
Last month we had an actual "board" meeting to plan our next large event. There were ten of us there to help plan the next event and we had never met each other. But, we all hit it off and laughed and had such a good time. I thought I was REALLY quite witty that night! (It may … (2 comments)

Database Growth Through Calendar Reminders - 10/20/08 11:56 PM
For those of you that do not use one of those sometimes-expensive professional database services....I hope that you use your MicroSoft calendar or other computer offered calendars. When I discovered that I couldn't afford the fancy database service, I had to learn to compromise and seek some other method.
If you have a PC, then look into using the proffered calendar. It has features that work similiar to the fancy services. You can pick a date and put in the title you want to be reminded about, and then you can choose: 1. How often you get reminded, 2. How many … (4 comments)

Geocaching: Take a Treasure Leave a Treasure - 10/06/08 02:03 AM
O.K., the picture is not what it seems! These guys are searching for a treasure. Geocaching has become all the craze lately! You'd be surprised where geocache treasures are hidden. There must be millions of them hidden all over the world...exaggerating maybe...but in just the little town of Camas, Washington there are over 300 hidden under benches, in forests, by historical markers, in parks, under bridges...you have to follow the GPS logistics to see where you will end up that day. Our family has searched all over Vancouver, Skamania, Ridgefield, Washougal...and even on vacations to Hawaii.
You will need a GPS … (1 comments)
