Big Al's Bowling Alley in Vancouver, WA - 03/29/10 08:05 PM
Big Al's Bowling Alley in Vancouver, WAOur family LOVES to go to Big Al's on the weekends! It's easy to find, it's right off of Highway 14 and north on 164th Avenue in Vancouver, WA. Big Al's is gorgeous to see when you walk into the gigantic "foyer." The grand entrance is like a tribute to our great northwest. It has that "cabin/towering fir trees" kinda feel. Big Al's went all-out on the ambience. I LOVE BIG AL'S!Big Al's is not just any ole bowling alley! This is a top of the line, family oriented fun. It's so many things rolled (4 comments)

Fort Vancouver 4th of July Fireworks Display - 03/25/10 07:01 PM
Fort Vancouver 4th of July Fireworks Display For 46 years Clark County has celebrated 4th of July at Fort Vancouver National Site. It had been canceled for the 2009 event because of limited funding. It was a sad 2009 4th of July without the dynamic fireworks display. This year will include a small nominal fee to help offset the costs of such a huge community event. This huge event is a favorite and it's a "picnic in the park" for thousands and thousands of people. The rule for Fort Vancouver fireworks day is...get there early....lay out your blanket and take a nap (3 comments)
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas,WA - 03/24/10 11:57 PM
St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Camas, WASt. Thomas Catholic Church started out as a little mission church known as St. James at Fort Vancouver, WA. In 1838, the famous Father Blanchet founded this much needed Catholic Church. It served all of Clark County and Skamania counties. Unknown to many people these days is that the people of Washougal, WA decided they wanted their own church and a little six-pew church was built in 1901. Through many changes and another small church was built in Camas in April 1950 which eventually became The St. Thomas Aquinas Church of today.Today in 2010, The St. (1 comments)

Real Estate Bottom? - 03/18/10 09:16 PM
Real Estate Bottom? Warren Buffet tells us that investors "....should be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful." Are you fearful of today's real estate bottom, job losses and unemployment? Are you WAITING for the market to drop to purchase a new home??As you may have noticed, the real estate industry has been hit very hard. Over a million real estate agents have dropped out of the business. Only the experienced real estate agent veterans are weathering with staunch perserverence, working, lead generating, serving their clients. (Unless they are with Keller Williams and are following the Gary (5 comments)
1. Clean out your house. Get rid of extra furniture, collections, personal items, personal pictures, medicines and valuables. (People want to imagine THEIR stuff in your house, not yours.) No artificial flowers anywhere! 2. Clean off all your counters and surface spaces…only one elegant item should be left on a counter or table or bookshelf. Think minimalist! Make it look clean and sparse. 3. Do (5 comments)
One important thing I learned about Foreclosure at the Community Housing Resource Center provided by HUD is that if your mortgage payment is more than 31% of your monthly gross income, you will have trouble working on a loan modification, etc. But there is sometimes hope. I say "sometimes" because the answer will not always be the one you want, but maybe the path will be a teeny bit less stressful for you and your family. With the help and assistance of foreclosure prevention counseling you'll be able to stop or at least (0 comments)
Foreclosure Process In Clark County, WA - 03/17/10 12:27 AM
Foreclosure Process in Clark County, WA, Tonight I attended an informational meeting about the local Foreclosure Process at the Community Housing Resource Center: 2700 NE Andresen Rd., Suite D, Vancouver, WA 98661. The meeting was led by Carlos Garcia. This meeting is available every Tuesday and Thursday at 5 pm. (Phone: 360-690-4496) Tonight there were only about six people attending, but Carlos mentioned that normally about 30 people attend and there is standing room only. That large attendance attests to the fact that homeowner people are basically good people, trying to make the best out of a bad market/loan process (0 comments)
Is Your Short Sale or Loan Modification Being Turned Down? - 03/16/10 10:33 AM
Is your Short Sale or Loan Modification Being Turned Down? This is happening all around us. I began doing short sales in early 2007. Some people have been trying to get their loan modified since about then too. Who actually OWNS your mortgage note? Most of the time the big banks don't even own your note...it's a bunch of investors. The big banks are only the "servicers." And..the big banks have to protect their investors because they are afraid of lawsuits. My realtor friends Nestor and Katerina explain their situation in Florida and it resonates here in Washington state also. Via Nestor & (1 comments)
