Washington|Oregon More Home Buyer Activity According to RMLS

From our RMLS reports:"Supra Lockbox Activity - Updated Through July 18 Both states see activity gains from previous week. When comparing the week of July 12 - July 18 with the week prior, the number of times an RMLSTM subscriber opened a Supra lockbox (seller's home being toured) increased 7.1% in Washington and 12.2% in Oregon."
When I look at the numbers for the last week, Oregon has a majority of the sales/buyer shopping activity. It's quite a gap. Note our comparision of "doors opened" as 3,044 for the last week. … (3 comments)

Here's some great information about HomePath from Fannie Mae!

OK so it' a little risque but so is 5% down and conventional lending for Investors. Am I right?
At today's rock bottom prices -- REO or "Real Estate Owned Homes" (i.e., in the bank's portfolio) are the best value going. You do need a keen nose to ferret out a solid home beneath the banged doors and tall grass. Do folks realize what 'as is' really means? That there could be problems lurking deeper than the tattered wallpaper? So let's assume you or your buyer are that savvy and your done your homework. … (1 comments)

Why the house is lingering on the market - 07/21/10 01:47 PM
Sellers OVER price their homes for various reasons!
Via Michael Adams (Keller Williams Cornerstone Realty):
Understanding Overpricing.   By far, the number one reason why properties do not sell in a timely manner is overpricing.  Sellers, actually, do themselves a disservice when their home is overpriced. Aside from creating a preceived greater value for comparable homes, overpriced homes increase day on market stats for the entire area. This increases inventory and places downward pressure on overall local housing prices.

Overpricing.   It's the number one reason why properties don't sell in a timely manner. Why do so many sellers do themselves the disservice of … (2 comments)

Foreclosure Scams Do Happen

Unfortunately, there are those who prey upon people in financial difficulty. Most likely, anything that sounds too good to be true, it probably is a scam.

To avoid Foreclosure scams it is important for the borrower to:
• Check with a lawyer or the mortgage company before entering into any transaction involving the property.
• Remember that the loan must be paid even if the deed is signed over to someone else. The lender must formally release the mortgage debt.
• Make sure all promises are made in writing.
• Not sign anything with blanks … (0 comments)
