camas: "Knock 'Em Dead" Job Cover Letters! - 03/24/09 10:16 PM
For those of you contemplating updating your resume' and looking for work...here are a few tips from my favorite book, "Knock 'Em Dead 1997" by Martin Yate. The front cover says, "It's a New York Times Business Bestseller" and "The ultimate job-seeker's handbook with great answers to over 200 tough interview questions." Don't let the title words, "1997" fool you. This book is relevant even today. I love this book! There have been updates to this book, so I buy any one of these books that I can. I have bought at least 3-4 copies from used book stores and Goodwill

camas: Clark County Market Snapshot Comparison Feb. '08 to Feb. '09 - 03/17/09 12:28 AM
Clark County Real Estate Market Snapshot(Drawn from Southwest Washington RMLS Market Action Feb. 2009)There are 4,180 active residential listings at the current time. At this rate of sales, this home inventory would last 18.6 months. So it is still a Buyer's Market! (Inventory in months is calculated by dividing the current active listings at the end of said month being reviewed by the number of closed sales for that month.)Clark County Washington fortunately had an increase in sales in February of 2009, but it is still behind compared to the pace set in February of 2008. Having said that,

camas: Raising The Rent on a Elderly Person - 02/15/09 11:45 PM
Some people are like hugging a sweet puppy. Yesterday I was showing multi family units to a client from California. He was only here for a couple of days. I had lined up several duplex units for him to see throughout our fair communities of Vancouver and Camas Washington. We visited several really nice places. When we got to a Camas, Washington duplex, the listing agent met us there to show us around. When he knocked and the door opened, lo and behold there was a sweet elderly person I knew from my church, St. Thomas Aquinas in Camas, Wa. She gave me a big hug. I've known

camas: Dec. '07 vs Dec. '08 Clark County Washington Market Snapshot - 01/29/09 06:11 PM
Greetings! In looking at the graph above, I think to myself...wow...we are so close to last year for sales and pending sales. But please read on: Market activity fell just short of last year's marks in December. Comparing December 2007 to December 2008, closed sales fell 4%, while pending sales dropped 2.2%. New listings, however, grew 3.8%. At December's month's rate of sales, the 4,228 active residential listings would last approximately 14.8 months. 2008 Summary: Comparing results from 2008 with 2007 shows a 9% drop in new listings. Closed sales dropped 26.9%, while pending sales fell

camas: Vicki Price Design Staging for Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, Washington - 11/19/08 11:04 PM
I have to write a blog about my good friend Vicki Price! She is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and the outside too. I have known her for about six years and she is a Designer and also a Stager by profession. I first came to know her through the YWCA Auction. But, she has plenty of awards and achievements to her name before I ever met her. The YWCA Auction is one of the largest Benefit Fundraisers in the Pacific Northwest. Vicki came and "rescued" us and beautified our "live" auction items area. This is the area of a benefit

camas: Top 5 Things Your Plumber Would Want You to Know - 11/18/08 12:10 AM
Top 5 Things Your Plumber Would Want You to Know! (I interviewed my Plumber husband. He's been plumbing in Camas, Washougal, Vancouver, Washington for over 30 years.) 1. Watch what you put down your drains. Coffee grounds and grease are big culprits. Hot water is your best friend when it comes to helping clean out a drain. 2. If you have an older home, don't install a garbage disposal. It's hard on the older metal pipes and it will eventually clog them up. Use garbage disposals cautiously. Only put small amounts of food bits down the drain at one time,

camas: Talking House for Camas, Washougal, Vancouver Washington Area - 11/07/08 05:44 PM
I've been using Talking House with my clients for about six months here in the Camas, Washougal and Vancouver Washington area. I absolutely love it. I especially love it because it gives me a way to present to the sellers a new way of advertising their home. It gives buyers a chance to hear about the home and call me for the extra information they want to know. I try to build the recordings to accent something wonderful about the home such as "Imagine yourself in this gourment kitchen with family and friends gathered round enjoying your enticing meal." I prepare a "radio broadcast" on

camas: Holiday Events for Camas, Washougal, Vancouver WA and Portland OR - 11/04/08 12:03 PM
As I've mentioned before here on AR, I'm kinda EVENT driven and notify my friends of all the fun things that are available for them to check out. For this holiday season, there are are many events that my family and I attend, just as a tradition for our family. For instance, we NEVER miss the Christmas ships on the Columbia river. No matter how cold, how rainy, etc....we're there with our cups of hot chocolate to watch the grand parade of lighted ships! So, in a desire to share our holiday traditions to my friends, family and clients...I send

camas: Geocaching: Take a Treasure Leave a Treasure - 10/06/08 02:03 AM
O.K., the picture is not what it seems! These guys are searching for a treasure. Geocaching has become all the craze lately! You'd be surprised where geocache treasures are hidden. There must be millions of them hidden all over the world...exaggerating maybe...but in just the little town of Camas, Washington there are over 300 hidden under benches, in forests, by historical markers, in parks, under bridges...you have to follow the GPS logistics to see where you will end up that day. Our family has searched all over Vancouver, Skamania, Ridgefield, Washougal...and even on vacations to Hawaii. You will need a GPS
