The internet is a great place to do business. One of the downsides to being an internet success is the volume of hate mail we receive on a regular basis from jealous competitors and disgruntled homeowners that bought from those competitors in the bubble (we were in High School at the time - and no, our parents were never in real estate). It's all good. We can take the abuse. We have a sense of humor. But on November 10, 2010, a local woman named (censored by ActiveRain) took it a little too far.

gainesville real estate: We've added Price per Sq Ft, Property Taxes, and Last Sale to AllisonAbles.com - 10/16/10 03:16 PM
We're the first brokerage in Gainesville to prominently feature important price per square foot, property tax, and last sale information. We believe that home buyers should have easy access to publicly available information rather than hiding it like most of our competitors. While the National Association of Realtors's Realtor.com has recently added price per square foot to all listings, our local board decided it would be a smart move to remove it from the MLS. Why you ask? Frankly, we don't know or care. Allison Ables Real Estate uses price per square foot IN CONJUNCTION with other information to help customers (1 comments)

What draws your eye to this picture? That's right - A bright, florescent light. Recomposing this so the cabinetry is centered in the frame would automatically cropped out unwanted items and harsh lights. The shadow cast by the camera flash on the right side is another thing to avoid. On a good photo it would stand out horribly - here you barely notice it at all.
Another overpowering florescent light... Drawing back the curtains would have really opened (0 comments)

Thanks to professional photographer Scott Lawler for his commentary. What most agents would emphasize as an important selling feature is being used here to support miscellaneous odds and ends. These personal items should have been removed to showcase the fireplace properly. Obscuring the feature with random clutter is not flattering. A little staging goes a long way! Attention Gainesville Agents: Do you want your listings to stand out from the crowd? We are here to create professional photographs that will attract more potential buyers. The average MLS pictures pale in comparison. Check us out at http://www.livingvisionsphotography.com/real_estate.html Attention Gainesville (0 comments)

Thanks to professional photographer Scott Lawler for his commentary. Not only are the walls not adjusted for vertical alignment, the whole room is askew. Its a poor perspective of the room - looks like it was cut in half. The couch cushion should have been straightened out and personal affects on table removed. Overall, not a horrible picture. But it's just a picture. It doesn't come across like a professional photograph. Do you want your listings to stand out from the crowd? We are here to create professional (1 comments)
