Don't Let Anyone Tell You "You Can''t Do That" - 01/28/10 08:22 AM
Hello Active Rainers Have you thought of an idea that you thought would be great, only to be discouraged by someone saying "You Can't Do That". Have a look at these short videos. A high school's girl basketball team challenged their Coach to what seemed an impossible task. Everybody said it couldn't be done. The Coach being a good sport took on the challenge... the rest is history. First, watch the ABC version...
Now, as videoed at the school...

Birds of Prey... Not Into Sharing - 01/24/10 10:16 AM
Birds of Prey... Not Into SharingDuring our trip earlier this month to Marco Island we were returning to the condo one afternoon to find this fine feathered friend feasting on a fresh catch of fish. He would let us get pretty close rather than fly away without finishing lunch. We weren't going to get any closer... look at those claws, didn't want to be on the wrong side of those.

Do You Believe In UFO's? - 01/23/10 10:57 AM
Do You Believe In UFO's? You know, flying saucers, Route 66, Area 51 and the likes. Well, last night we had just had a great meal at the Baton Rouge in Woodbridge, Ontario. By the way our only beverage was water and a little lemon. We jumped into the car and started to drive up the road. WHAM... look at that, what is it, do you see what I see... holy cow Batman I can't believe it.
The next thing you know, we were thrown into a dark room... bags of popcorn everywhere... people whispering here and there, what (11 comments)

WEDNESDAY'S WORDS OF WISDOM - 01/20/10 05:03 PM
Wednesday's Words of Wisdom Have you ever had a thousand things go through your mind that you wanted to accomplish in a day and then poof! It all falls apart? Why does that happen? Well they say it is because you let the day just fall as it may, instead of planning your day. Humph! Well maybe. Whoever 'THEY' are also say "if you don't plan your day someone or something will!" Seems to be true. Ever had a list of things you absolutely had to accomplish and wrote them all down on list and you actually got it (10 comments)
The main event may be over, but it is one that will be long remembered. The main event was the Re/Max Atlantic-Ontario Canada's Kick Start 2010 held in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. WHEW! IT'S ALMOST OVER! - 01/18/10 09:04 PM
WHEW! IT'S ALMOST OVER! What you ask is almost over? Blue Monday; that's right, that is what they call the third Monday in January. What is wrong with the third Monday in January and why is everyone depressed on this day every year? Well researchers say that traditionally it is the time we realize our New Years resolutions went south and we didn't, instead of greeting cards in the mail we are now receiving the bills from all our purchases, and on top of it all, it is probably the worst weather with grey clouds looming over our heads! To get over this (18 comments)

Just a walk in the park, well if it is January and you are in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, at none other the quaint downtown Gage Park, maybe a 'skate in the park' would be more in order.
Who could resist on a sun-filled 34F degree day, not to tie on the old blades and take a slide around the temperature controlled rink that skirts the city's most popular Gazebo? CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT - 01/16/10 09:26 PM
CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT - GONE WITH THE WIND with Clarke Gable, Vivian Leigh and Hattie McDaniel. WOW, What an old movie! It was over 3 hours long, complete with a scheduled INTERMISSION and EXIT MUSIC. It is very interesting how they set up the old movies. All the stars and the characters they played are listed at the beginning, the music, the sets, nothing like the effects of today, but still excellent acting. So many brilliant stars giving their all. And of course, the famous sayings "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" and "I'll think about that tomorrow". (9 comments)

A WEEK AGO WE CELEBRATED THE ARRIVAL OF 2010, HAVE YOU VISUALIZED IT? What have you done so far to make this year the '10' it is claiming to be? If you were lucky to be there in early January 2010, here are a couple of sunsets you missed. There is a lot more to do on Marco Island, how about a sail in the Gulf of Mexico. The building just to the right of centre, top left corner is where we stayed at the Charter Club (great place) The neat thing about sunsets they are all similiar but all different. As we were heading home after a very nice reprieve our minds returned to the business that would be at hand.As the miles and miles of pavement past under our tires, my mind couldn't help but think of home; all that was waiting there and it wandered back to this New Year's promises.
