Tuesday, August 09, 2011 Sooo….there doesn’t look to be a whole lot going on right now. However, that ma be because one of my main sources hasn’t updated their event list since last Friday. Since most of the places that feature live music are not open early, I am desperately trying to find out what is going on before I post this blog in the mornings. Underwood-Petersville Community Center All You Can Eat First Saturday Breakfast. First, general event information: The Shoals Culinary Complex has partnered with Professional Chef Kevin Kilburn to offer a wide range of cooking classes. Monday, August 1, 2011 The Handy Festival may be over, but you can still catch a couple of exhibits if you were too busy to get by to see them last week. Kenneday-Douglass Center for the Arts still has the Mostly Blues Art Exhibit through Friday. To set the mood for the W.C. Ok, I know its probably wrong, but I have been overcome by the Handy Festival now myself! As the event coordinator for Handy on the Plaza, I just spent my day (starting before 8 am) outside on the Plaza, getting the event set up and making sure the first day ran smooth. I am a little sunburned and a LOT tired! Things went well, though, once it was up and running...looking forward to tomorrow's event (the second day is always easier!).
