Sooo….there doesn’t look to be a whole lot going on right now. However, that ma be because one of my main sources hasn’t updated their event list since last Friday. Since most of the places that feature live music are not open early, I am desperately trying to find out what is going on before I post this blog in the mornings. If you know of another source, please let me know!

Jack’o’Lantern Farms is open today from 3-7 pm. JoLF is a local famer’s market that features hydroponically grown vegetables, gourmet products, domestic cheeses and products from the Shoals Culinary Center. They are located on Garage Road, across from the old Holiday Inn in Sheffield.

If you are interested in getting involved with local government (or just want to sit back and watch the fireworks!), the Florence City Council has called for special work sessions at 5pm on the following dates: Tuesday, August 9, and Tuesday, September 13. The work sessions are held in the City Auditorium, 103 South Pine St. All members of the public are invited to attend.

Live music tonight:

  • Jeff Henson & Jordan Denton – On the Rocks, Florence (no start time is listed, but they usually start their music around 9 pm)
  • Maxwell D. Russell (guests Johnny Holland and William Kyle Morgan) – 8 pm, Sandbar of the Shoals (ages 19+ show)
