Photos, Real Estate, and the Super Wealthy - 12/30/08 07:51 PM
I love real estate. I also love photography. So, needless to say, when I found the following site, I was drawn in - and then spent way too much time there. If you are anything like me, visit http://www.celebrityaddressaerial.com/Celebrity/Celebrity.html to quench your thirst for some of the most expensive, and beautiful homes in America. It features aerial views of 100's of celeb homes and many of them are ..... WOW. Here's an example:
Aaron Spelling's former home sold for a reported $130M. If you like this kind of thing, check out the site. Other noted homes to check out are David (1 comments)
It's official - No more external website linking points - 12/29/08 10:57 PM
Just in case you have not heard......... I received this email today from ActiveRain: "Re: Ticket xxxxx solvedDear Steve,I'm sorry, we're no longer offering points for linking to the site." Unfortunately this looks like another case where some people abused a "nice to have" and killed it for everyone else. It's too bad they took the "linking points" idea away completely. I certainly think it would be appropriate for ActiveRain to allow users to link (and get credit for) say 1 or 2 websites. ------------------------------- Amazing Video Tours offers photography and full motion video marketing solutions to Realtors, and other individuals with property to sell, lease, or (21 comments)
What's your take on the Economy for 2009? - 12/29/08 10:01 PM
I am a die hard CNBC watcher and have been for several years. I like the fact that they go way beyond the headlines and bring in every analyst possible to debate every aspect of a story. I have been celebrating the holidays with family and have not had my CNBC fix for a few days (so I feel out of the loop) but I did watch Nightly News tonight. Tonight I saw some new numbers I had not seen yet. 800,000 retail jobs lost in 2008 and they said we are only half way through it. Out of Business- Linens & (5 comments)
How to do Your First Video of a Listing - a.k.a. Using your new Christmas cam - 12/26/08 11:49 PM
So, How many of you got video cameras for Christmas? If you got one - Congratulations! So what now? Sure,... you've taken it out of the box, charged the battery and taken some footage of the family, right? But now you're thinking.....can I use this for my business? The answer is yes. Do it! Get out there and shoot some video of one of your listings. But first..... practice. Then practice some more, then some more. Then do a video of your own home, when no one is home to bother you. Watch it alone, ...Cringe a little .... Learn a little (11 comments)

Virtual Tours, Video Tours, Slide Shows & Music - 12/09/08 04:57 PM
Recently, I spent a few hours researching Charlotte Area Listings to get a gauge on how many Real Estate Agents are making use of full motion video (specific findings in a previous blog post). The quick answer is, not many. What I did find surprised me! Over 3/4 of the agents that ARE taking advantage of their own produced Video Tours and slide shows are using copyrighted music from famous artists as a backdrop for their work. AGENTS --- DO NOT do this! Even though you think that "Carolina on my mind" by James Taylor makes for a perfect backdrop to (3 comments)
Need Help for A Very Special Friend - 12/05/08 12:56 PM
I want to [quickly] build a website for a fellow Realtor who lost her battle with cancer yesterday. My goal is to have a community place where anyone can go to the site, sign a Guest Book with their thoughts, post photos, and interact in a Facebook kind of way (but not use facebook). Can anyone point me in the direction of a website provider who offers Guest book and photo upload possiblilities (for guests in addition to the webmaster) with an easy to use, WYSIWYG interface as I am not a web programmer. I would really appreciate it. I also (6 comments)

Research shows that less then 1% of Agents use Real Full Motion Video - 12/01/08 09:00 AM
I am working on a presentation on "Why Video" for a local Real Estate Agency tomorrow so I took the time (several hours) to look at a random sampling of 1000 listings for sale in the Charlotte, NC area. Here is a summary of my findings: Of 500 Listings (250K-500K) - 2 had *real* full motion video Of 500 Listings (500K-1M) - 4 had *real* full motion video (2 of them were my clients) I emphasize the word "real" because there are many people who like to use the word "video" when all they are offering is a static photo slide (5 comments)
My blog's purpose is to educate and raise awareness about the power of full motion video as a means to sell real estate. It's also a wonderful place to showcase my Realtor Client's Listings.
Beyond that, I have many interests including real estate, photography, Social Media, the Economy, the Stock Market, SEO, online marketing, music, ActiveRain, and many other interests and may blog about them when something interesting hits me.
