8th Annual Penguin Plunge, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina

Well Folks...It's that time of year again.  A New Year, A time for change, a time to set new goals, a time to Plunge into the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for Carteret County Charities...

Do you Love Where You Live? - 12/30/10 06:38 AM
Do You Love Where You Live?

I met a real estate agent recently, and he is a great guy.  Well respected in our area, very knowledgable about Real Estate, very friendly, etc.  Moments after meeting him, I overheard him talking about how much he hates our area and how he wishes he lived somewhere else.  Now, I am all about being happy, and fortunately for this guy...there are plenty of other towns across this great country where he can go, and maybe he'll be happy!

But I wonder how you can sell an area that you don't love?  … (17 comments)

Medical Park Pharmacy in Morehead City, North Carolina - 12/30/10 05:38 AM
Medical Park Pharmacy in Morehead City, North Carolina

Let me take you back to my first week living on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina...I promise, I will try to make this long story as short & sweet as possible!
My husband and I along with our 3 month old baby, moved to Morehead City, NC from Naples, Florida back in May of 2005.  If you have ever been to Naples, FL, you know there is a Walgreens/QVC/Rite-Aide on every corner.  Every grocery store also includes a pharmacy.  Nothing against Naples, Florida (we loved it there), but going to the … (17 comments)

Recycle That Christmas Tree and Protect the Crystal Coast Beaches!

Well Folks, with the Holiday Season quickly coming to an end, Christmas Trees will be finding their way to the end of driveways, and then off to the landfills or somewhere else!  Don't let your tree become one of them.

The fabulous Fort Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina can put your retired Christmas Tree to use!  Just drop your undecorated tree off at the Drop Station located behind the Bath House in the Public Beach Parking area and they will strategically place each tree in … (9 comments)

Dreaming of a White Christmas on the Crystal Coast! - 12/24/10 12:00 PM
Dreaming of a White Christmas on the Crystal Coast!

If you live on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, You may just be dreaming of a white Christmas!  We haven't seen one since 1989...that's a long time!  Well,  I figure... since it's gonna be cold, it might as well snow!  My family plans on staying home most of the weekend anyway, and a snow day would be a welcome excuse to curl up in front of the fireplace sipping hot cocoa!

According to  WITN's local forecast, our dreams may actually come true this Christmas on the Crystal … (14 comments)

Tis' The Season to Open your Hearts...and Give!

Thanks to Roger Mucci, I have been participating in "Take it off in the Rain" for weeks now.  My personal goal was to lose nineteen pounds!  While I have lost nine (it's a good start), I am still less than half way there.  I was so excited about the group and the goal I had set, but somewhere along the way, I let my busy life get in the way.  With baskets of homemade goodies sitting on my kitchen counters (thanks to many friends), it has been hard.  So, as I sit … (15 comments)

WooHoo...I finally had a successful Open House! - 12/09/10 03:37 PM
WooHoo...I finally had a successful Open House!

I have written and said hundreds of times that I hate open houses.  They just don't seem to work well in our area...No matter what we do.  Marketing the Open house online, in the paper, placing signs all over the place, notifying the neighbors...Never works!  But, I currently have a listing at 119 Walnut Circle in Pine Knoll Shores, and the Seller requested that I hold a Broker Open.  What?  I don't do open houses!!!!  But, knowing that this is a 1520 square foot home that feels like 2000 square feet and knowing … (44 comments)

My Kodak Moment...Love at First Sight - 12/06/10 06:01 AM
My Kodak Moment...Love at First Sight
I have been blessed with an amazing family, some of the best friends, and the opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world.  While I feel that my life has been one Kodak Moment after another, when accepting this challenge...only one day, one moment, and one photo came to mind.

Tanner came into my life on January 21st, 2005 at 7:25 PM via cesarean section.  I will never forget watching his daddy, and my best friend, taking photo after photo, and wishing I could just see his face...I … (30 comments)

Family Time...It's what's for Dinner! - 12/05/10 08:33 AM
Family Time...It's What's for Dinner!

When searching for a place to call home, Don't forget to consider the time your family spends at Dinner Time.  Whether you have children, are single, or living with just your spouse/partner, Where you sit down for each meal can be an important part of your decision in which house you choose.

Do you want to sit around the table in a Formal Dining Room?  Does the entire family join you for holidays and special occasions.  Do those times include HUGE meals with seating for many folks?

Do you eat at the Kitchen … (9 comments)
