A couple days ago, Mom and I were out taking pictures of a new listing in Indian Beach, North Carolina.  On our way back to the office, mom slammed on the brakes and made a quick u-turn to check out a shop.  I complained, I didn't have time, I needed to get home, I must do this, blah, blah, blah......

Yesterday morning, after a couple cups of coffee, My husband and I decided to get out of the house and do a little hiking.  In an effort to see and do all the Crystal Coast has to offer, we ended up at Patsy Pond Nature Trail located in the Croatan National Forest... for the first time.  We were so pleased that we did.  Hiking 2.65 miles through the forest and around a beautiful pond, on a cold & windy day was the perfect way to spend the morning.

When you are selling your home..... Live like you are dying!

I consider myself to be pretty darn organized.  But occasionally, I open a closet or a drawer and find that I keep a lot of junk that I shouldn't be keeping.  Recently, I opened my drawer that I cram all of my paid bills and other wonderful things that need to be filed and thought, "If I died tomorrow, someone I love would have to sort through this crap", and no, I'm not sick or anything, you just never know what tomorrow will bring.

This Saturday, February 25th, 2012, The Fisherman's Post Newspaper will be hosting their 7th Annual full-day Saltwater Fishing School on the Crystal Coast!   The school will take place at the Crystal Coast Civic Center on Arendell Street  in Morehead City, North Carolina, from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.  

The cost for tickets is $100 per person, and can be purchased online by visiting the Morehead School online registration form, or you may pick up tickets at Chasin' Tails Outdoors in Atlantic Beach or at West Marine in Morehead City.

This weekend on our journey to visit with Activerain and REALTOR® Extraordinaire, Craig Rutman, we decided to take a little detour to visit Raven Rock State Park.

The park is a 2 ½ hour drive from the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, and well worth the trip.  From the park, it is only another hour to Apex, North Carolina, which we discovered is another wonderful town with lots of character, history and beauty.  And to make it even better, we have great friends who reside there, and Craig is a wonderful tour guide!

A couple weeks ago, I posted about painting my front door!  I asked for your help, and holy machinoly.... You all had some great ideas!  I have received emails, text messages, comments and phone calls from some of you wanting to know which color I decided to go with!  What fun this has been!
I was hoping to reveal the color with a picture of the finished product, but the weather has not been cooperative, therefore you are stuck with a pic of a can of paint!

I wrote a post last year, "What do you mean you didn't know I was a REALTOR®, Shame on Me!", and since then, I have made a point to let folks know what I do.  
I am not the type of person to "push" myself on people, I have always had a difficult time promoting myself at soccer games, PTO meetings, etc. Sometimes, what I do for a living casually works its way into conversation, but.... not always.

So, today is Valentine's Day!  A day to show those you love just how much they mean to you.  In my family, we do not spend a lot of money on gifts, we try to only spend time together, and sometimes that includes creating handmade cards together which turns out to be a lot of fun!

Each morning as I drive to the office (yes, I go to the office everyday), I feel blessed that when I look to my left, I see the Atlantic Ocean and to my right are glimples of Bogue Sound.  Life on an island is pretty special (even in Hurricane season).

I absolutely love living, working & playing on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina!  I hope it's obvious and I hope other folks living here agree with me.  I often share my favorite spots, my favorite "secret" hiking trails, some of the best views (unknown to most), and I feel great about sharing those things.

We bought our house in 2005, and the day we moved in, it looked like this:

The wood siding was starting to rot in several places, so we had it replaced with a much brighter color of vinyl!  Now, it looks like this:

(please ignore the fact that I need to really spend some time in the yard, the driveway needs to be power washed,  and my shrubs are begging to be trimmed).
