Sunday Scenes on the Crystal Coast

As most of you know, I love the view from the water.  Yesterday, we went boating with my sister and her family.  We headed out from the new boat ramp at Radio Island, and enjoyed a beautiful day at Cape Lookout.  The water was crystal clear yesterday, and the beach gorgeous as ever!  We did a little swimming, a little walking and a lot of treasure hunting.

Sunday Scenes from the Water!

One of the best ways to see the Crystal Coast of North Carolina is from the water.  Whether you are in a fishing boat, a sailboat (my travel of choice), a canoe/kayak or a tour boat, the world looks a little different from the water.

Shack Attack!
On the coast of North Carolina, Many of our summertime activities involve sea & sand.  We love sailing, fishing, collecting seashells, and just relaxing on the beach.  One of the most popular places to visit by boat, is Shackleford Banks.  The Shackleford Ponies roam the beaches and the dunes, and are very hospitable when it comes to visitors.  Folks pile on to the beaches of Shackleford by the boatload, and well....It's just a grand time.  Gorgeous, Sunny days on the Crystal Coast turn into "Shack Attacks".

Just remember if you do partake in the activities at Shackleford … (14 comments)

Boating on The Coast of North Carolina

Well folks, Winter is coming to an end, and if you are like me....You can't wait to get out on the water.  Our boat has been sitting in the driveway awaiting a little attention.  Before putting your boat in the water for the season, it is very important to make sure you are prepared.

This weekend, we are expecting 71 degrees and blue, sunny skies on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, and we plan on spending a little TLC time with "Emily Blu".  Still too chilly to take her out … (20 comments)

boating on the crystal coast: The Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks, North Carolina - 07/27/10 06:22 AM
The Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks, North Carolina

Shackleford Banks is one of many little islands that make up the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  While visiting Shackleford Banks, you may feel like you are sitting on a little slice of heaven.  Surrounded by water, sea oats blowing in the gentle breeze, your toes in the sand and the beautiful Wild Horses casually strolling around you on the beach...Life is Good!  The horses may look like colts due to there size, but they are full grown.  They have been here since the 16th century when  their Spanish Ancestors made … (10 comments)
