The Carolina Sounder is a sculpture located on the Morehead City Waterfront at Jaycee Park, and I have always loved it!  Not only is it beautiful, it sits in one of the most beautiful places in our area and it is a great reminder of the lives lost at sea and the men & women who bring us fresh, local seafood.  Our area relies heavily on our fishermen, and we appreciate all that they do for our community.  We know the struggles that they have, and the hard work and long hours … (10 comments)

It's Just Another Day...On the Crystal Coast

After a long day of Soccer games, grocery shopping and Laundry...I suggested that we head over to the Morehead City Waterfront for a nice walk along the boardwalk, followed by dinner at the Ruddy Duck Tavern, and then swinging on the docks while waiting for sunset.  It got a little chilly and we didn't quite make it to sunset, but we had a wonderful time.   The Crystal Coast of North Carolina is a fabulous place with so much to see and do.  After a day like today, we know just how very blessed … (9 comments)

My family and I spend a lot of time on the Morehead City Waterfront.  We enjoy just walking up and down the boardwalk, admiring the views and the boats.  We also love stopping in one of the many local shops downtown and we especially enjoy having lunch at Carlone's.  In our opinion, they have the best pizza in town, and I always enjoy a large, fresh salad while visiting Carlone's.

Every year, thousands of folks head to Morehead City, North Carolina for the NC Seafood Festival.  On October 1-3, 2010 along the Morehead City Waterfront, We will celebrate our 24th Annual Festival.  If you love seafood...this is a no brainer!  You can Sample just about every type of seafood imaginable and you  can buy even more from the vendors.  If you are like me and you don't eat seafood (I know, I know), there is still plenty to eat...And drink.  My personal favorite is Funnel Cake (Don't worry Roger Mucci, I will not eat too … (10 comments)

The Ruddy Duck Tavern in Morehead City, North Carolina is a fabulous restaurant located on the Morehead City Waterfront.  The staff is awesome, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the views are gorgeous, the prices are very reasonable and the food is "To Die For".  They proudly serve Local Seafood and there are plenty of options for those who do not eat seafood.  I highly recommend the "Carolina Burger" or Fried Shrimp (or both), followed by a slice of Key Lime Pie... my sister would kill for their Fish Tacos!
