Today was a typical busy Monday in so many ways.  Phone calls, emails, people in and out of the office, etc.  But this afternoon, I got to do something I haven't done for a long time...show property to REAL LIVE buyers!!!
A lovely couple relocating to my area called a couple of weeks ago.  We've been phoning and emailing since, but today I met them for the first time.  And, lo and behold, they want to buy a home here! 
Not an investment property, not a flip property, not a killer deal on a foreclosure or short sale, just a regular house … (5 comments)

Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Officials meet Willard Scott! - 09/18/08 06:03 AM
One of my favorite things about living in a small community is our local weekly county newspaper, The Spirit of Jefferson Farmer's Advocate.  Readers can get caught up on happenings in Jefferson County through columns written by regular reporters on local and statewide issues, local sports teams and the like, but also events in the different municipalities written by citizens.  These are a great place to see who's birthday is coming up, church socials, and good recipes!  I Love It!!

With some help from friends here in Active Rain, I published our first newsletter, and we just got a great listing from it last week!
For less than $100 (having little marketing budget left to do much more!), sent only to our "sphere of influence," this just goes to show that even with fancy websites, soaring print media costs, and very savvy buyers and sellers, getting back to basics is more important than ever in this business.
