Wacky Wishes for Real Estate in 2011 - 12/31/10 12:35 PM

My new year's wish list is beyond ridiculous but here goes~
In 2011 I'd love to see:
A PLAGIARIZAPPER ~ A device that immediately recognizes and electrocutes anyone who plagiarizes my work by sending an electronic current right out of the offenders keypad. Ok...electrocution may be a bit strong.  I'll settle for a few burned fingertips and immobilization for an hour.
A HOME VALUATION BARCODE~ so that Banks can establish an acceptable sales price on a home BEFORE we list it for short sale.  Every home could be fitted with a bar-code so that all we have to do is point our … (16 comments)

Christmas without snow in Chandler AZ ~ How I used to hate it - 12/23/10 07:00 PM
This is my 10th Christmas in the Valley of the Sun in Chandler, AZ after moving here from Kenosha, WI.  Every year I complained about the fact that it "just doesn't feel like Christmas" with temps in the 60's and not a single threat of snow....not ever.
Growing up in the midwest, we always prayed for a white Christmas.  Here? Hmmm... Nope, no such hopes.
I love it when it clouds up and rain threatens for at the very least a little gloomy weather feels a little more like Christmas to me.

Looking for a home for rent on Craigslist ~ Renter BEWARE! - 12/15/10 11:37 AM
First let me say ~ I really like Craigslist.  I advertise my listings there and I've bought some great deals from honest folks advertising on the site.  BUT, here's the thing, scammers like Craigslist too.
For the third time this week I've received a call inquiring about a listing found on the internet.  I pull up the listing and explain to the caller that this property is a bank-owned property currently listed for sale.

When the PRINCIPLE suffocates the BIG PICTURE - 12/13/10 10:09 AM
"It's the principle of the thing." The problem with these 6 little words is they suck the life out of many a real estate transaction...virtually suffocating the big picture.
I've had buyers and sellers get hung up over a $200 repair or a close date neither party wants to budge on all due to "the principle of the thing".

Christmas memories ~ Sometimes the ugliest ornaments are the best - 12/07/10 07:49 PM
Putting up the Christmas tree....with each passing year it has become a chore that I dread, but this year for some reason it became a time of reflection and just a few tears. Perhaps it's because I lost a dear friend this year which shook my world and gave me a glimpse of my own mortality, but I found myself taking my time as I gingerly unwrapped each treasured ornament.  With each ornament I took out of the box, a memory came floating out with it.

Sun Lakes AZ 6th Annual Luminaria Walk at Diamond Lake in Oakwood - 12/06/10 04:35 PM
This weekend, December 11-12, 2010 from 6-8pm, you won't want to miss the sixth annual Luminaria Walk around Diamond Lake in Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes, AZ.
Over 1000 Luminarias will surround the lake and homeowners will have their homes decorated to the hilt.  The reflection in the lake of the lights and luminarias combined with the fountain lights are a site to beautiful for words.
The Sun Lakes Chorale and the Chordaires will be providing sounds of the season and non-perishable food items will be collected for the United Way Food Bank.

When you're all over the Internet ~ Especially ActiveRain...you're going to be found which is what just happened to me.
Tomorrow I'm being interviewed by a local radio show to get a glimpse of all things positive in real estate today.  There's a novel concept, let's talk about the "positive" side of real estate today!
So I was thinking~
Low interest rates
Abundant inventory
Amazing low priced deals
Sellers who are willing to negotiate
Banks who are finally willing to negotiate on short sales
