The Rim Recreation and Park District has so many activities offered to local kids (and adults too!) busy, you can count on something for each season.  The choices range from Taekwondo to Belly Dancing, or, for the less active options, there's CPR and Drama offerings.  The District manages facilities from Green Valley Lake to Crestline and everywhere in between. 

The newest addition to their classes is a one day cheer camp for girls from Kindergarten to 8th grade.  This camp is being held Saturday April 30th at the Lake Gregory Education Center.

Effective July 1, 2011 all homes must have carbon monoxide detectors installed as a conditition of sale.  This means that, if you are planning to sell, or have your house currently listed, it is a good idea to purchase some of the detectors now.  The requirement is much like that for smoke detectors that has been in place for years.  It will be another item that inspectors look for and that you will have to sign for in disclosures.  It's always best to know ahead of time of upcoming changes!

I am amazed at the abundance of missing stoves in foreclosure properties these days.  Where did the former owners take them all?  I presume that most people who lost their homes to foreclosure have turned to renting and, don't most rentals come with stoves?  Is there some kind of absent stove epidemic out there?  Will we come across a large stove-hoarder cave when this housing downturn rights itself?  I don't remember any time in my own house-hunting days when there were so many houses with the large gaping hole in the kitchen where a stove once was housed.  Why are homeowners … (2 comments)
