Route 7 Car Surfing, Hawaii's got nothing on us! - 07/31/09 02:45 PM
Hawaii's got nothing on us! Route 7 Car Surfing! A big storm blew through New Milford, CT just a bit ago. The wind was whipping the trees around, the threat of a thunderstorm (again) was imminent, you could hear rumblings in the distance. The skies opened up and the water came down like Niagra Falls. A few cars pulled over in our parking lot, I can't blame them, it was probably impossible to see anything anyway. But for the daredevils who decided to have a bit of fun in the dreary weather? Why slow down when you can.... CAR SURF!!!

As you wind around the lake you feel as if you are transported to another time. Many of the homes have been renovated, yet they retain their original charm and beauty. The towns of Washington, Kent and Warren share the lake. The quaint Village of New Preston is an important part of Lake Waramaug. (New Preston is

Meadowbrook Estates, a sought after neighborhood in New Milford CT - 07/26/09 06:59 PM
Meadowbrook Estates in New Milford CT, a sought after neighborhood along the border with Bridgewater, CT. As you enter Meadowbrook Estates through either Revere Road or Standish Road you can't help but notice the wide streets with beautiful homes on well established properties. Meadowbrook Estates is not your "cookie cutter" type subdivision, the homes have their own style and character and are well set back from the road. Consider the commute. From Meadowbrook Estates the commute to Danbury or Interstate 84 is easy, avoid Route 7 traffic and head south on Route 133 through Bridgewater, or Route 67 to Southbury. It

Village Fair Days 2009 in New Milford CT has finished, it was a great time! The weather cooperated, (almost), Friday nights thunderstorm and downpour held off until about 45 minutes before the end of the activities. Otherwise, great weather, great food, great people, great music, great fun! The village green was packed with people enjoying themselves, I saw clients, friends and fellow Realtors®. I even got some mug shots of some unwilling realtors! The winner of the New Milford Idol 2009 contest is... Jeannette Dubray! Congratulations Jeannette, awesome job! Village Fair Days in New Milford CT and New Milford Idol Finals are HERE! - 07/24/09 07:19 AM
The wait is over, Village Fair Days are here! Today, July 24th, marks the opening of Village Fair Days in New Milford, Connecticut. The prediction was for rain rain, rain and more rain, however the forecast this morning gives a bit of hope for better weather. All week I have been watching our beautiful Village Green in the center of New Milford heat up with the bustle of pre-fair days activity. The tents were up two days ago, the center road by the gazebo was blocked off, people were setting up tables and chairs. Last night, despite the rain, I know

Fieldstone Estates for sale in New Milford CT - 07/23/09 06:48 PM
Fieldstone Estates in New Milford Connecticut is a quiet subdivision of quality homes, most between 3,000 and 4,000 (plus) square feet. The first second phase, Granite Road, was built between 2004 and 2005, 10 grand colonials on a quiet cul de sac. These homes vary, some with 2 car garages, some with 3, some with finished basements, others left for future owners to finish as they see fit. The one thing they do have in common is they are all built for enjoyment of the homes. They are just minutes from walking trails around the reservoir, and plenty of woods for

Sellers Please Note I Am Working For The Buyer, This Time - 07/23/09 01:03 PM
Sellers, please note, I am working for the buyers. Although you ultimately pay my commission, I still work for the buyers. I actually have a contract with the buyers and with that a fiduciary responsibility to the buyers. If I worked for you I would have your home listed. I am unaware of the events that led to your decision of a listing agent, however since I am not your listing agent I can't help you. If you are not getting what you want, please call the agents broker. If the agent is also the broker, speak with your attorney. When

First time home buyers, ask questions first. Prove it, show me what you know! - 07/21/09 08:29 PM
Prove it, show me what you know! If you are thinking about buying a home then you are thinking about getting a mortgage. Unless of course your great Aunt Bertha just left you boatloads of bucks. I am willing to bet if great Aunt Bertha had any money she left it all to Fluffy the wonder kitty, not you. So back to my original train of thought. You are going to need a mortgage. Shopping for a mortgage is tricky and getting more and more difficult by the day. There are so many new regulations and new twists and turns that

My client was very happy with everything, and I felt that Jim had protected my clients interests. I am very particular about who I will recommend to my clients. I want to know that the inspector will do a thorough job, point out issues, and differentiate issues that the seller needs to resolve as opposed to

Facing Foreclosures in New Milford CT, what can you do? Plenty! - 07/09/09 05:23 PM
We all hear about short sales, but what does it mean to you, the homeowner who is now in the unfortunate situation of owing more than your house is worth. Top that off with a job loss or some other hardship and you may not be facing a short sale, you will be facing a foreclosure if action is not taken to sell your home. New Milford and the surrounding communities are not exempt from this problem. According to Realty Track there are 421 lis pendens filed in New Milford, CT as of June 2009. That is a staggering figure, but

Fireworks Display Over New Milford CT, a not so Speechless Sunday - 07/05/09 07:07 AM
The fireworks in New Milford, CT last night were great! I sat on the banks of the Housatonic River by Veterans Bridge. We all had a great time, I hope you enjoy my display! Are you looking to buy a home or sell a home in the greater New Milford area? Please contact me or visit my website to find out more. Independence Day, did you know? - 07/02/09 05:53 PM
Independence Day, did you know? Most of the founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence on July 2, 1776. The Continental Congress ratified the document on July 4, 1776. Both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were the only 2 men to sign the Declaration of Independence and become President. Both Adams and Jefferson died on the same day, July 4, 1826. This date happened to be the 50th anniversary of the United States. The Bristol Rhode Island 4th of July Parade is the oldest continuous parade held in the United States, the first being in 1785. In 1779 July
