buying a home: Breaking a real estate date - 08/21/13 10:39 PM
Just how important are those dates in real estate?
In my neck of the real estate woods, Southern Litchfield County, we can do things one of two ways when you make an offer on a home. We can use an offer to purchase or an actual contract form when presenting the offer.
So what is the difference? Is there a major difference between an offer to purchase and a contract form?
Yes, there are very important differences. The first is an offer to purchase, which will be followed up by a formal contract written by the sellers attorney. Usually the attorney … (3 comments)

There are many factors that determine if this is indeed the right time to purchase a home in Litchfield County. But if you are confident in your job security, if you have the funds and the credit score and are still sitting on the fence, you may want to climb down and purchase a home in Litchfield County. But why now? When you are ready to purchase a house in the greater New Milford CT area, we will be making an offer, not a suggestion that maybe you might be interested in purchasing a home. Scenario #1 You see a house you like and you want to buy it. You ask me to call the agent and find out a few things.

buying a home: New Milford, CT Real Estate Talk, Thoughts of a Mortgage Got You Down? - 05/25/10 02:41 PM
New Milford, CT Real Estate Talk, Thoughts of a Mortgage Got You Down? What on earth are you waiting for before buying a home in New Milford, CT? Rates are down to an all time low, I was shocked at a rate sheet that was sent to me today by a local lender. 30 year fixed conventional mortgage, 4.75 with no points. Well, that is a no brainer! And how about FHA loans? Low rates, you can use gift money for the 3.5% down payment. FHA used to scare the pants off of some agents and buyers, no so anymore.
