Valley Ho, built in 1956, completed it's renovation 2 years ago. Valley Ho opened it's doors with 194 rooms, and 37 condos, lofts and penthouses. With the market slowing down, developers have decided to open up the condos for nightly visitors.

I think it's a brilliant idea. The developers can only win by showcasing these beautiful homes. With the Superbowl coming to town in Febuary, I am sure they will not have a problem finding guests. Many people will get a chance to stay overnight in their future home.

I have always considered Scottsdale to be a wonderful place. There are not to many places in Arizona where one can take a stroll and visit art galleries, great restaurants and enjoy beautiful views such as Camelback Mountain.

In tougher times one needs to get creative to make money. Valley Ho is doing the right thing by holding open houses to potential buyers. After all, everyone is a potential buyer.

The Scottsdale Development Review Board approved plans for Scottsdale Quarter in late August. The plan includes approximately 365,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, 246,000 square feet of offices and 408,000 square feet of condos.

The first phase of a shopping and office complex will be completed in the fall of 2008. Developers the 28 acre site for construction. There plan is to have the first buildings constructed around the Dial Innovation Center.

The second phase of this project is to include more shops, restaurants, and an urban park.

The third phase will include condos and a hotel. The buildings are expected to be between 30 to 60 feet high.

I expect the Scottsdale Quarter to be a success. Scottsdale's economy and status in this great state will continue to grow as long as developments such as these continue to be built. With Maricopa County being the fastest growing county in the United States, I fully expect Scottsdale Quarter to flourish.

The city planners and neighbors of downtown Scottsdale continue to delay the development of the Waterview at Scottsdale.

There concern is focused on the height and density of the condominiums and a hotel planned along the Arizona canal.

It use to be that cities would compete to be home to the tallest building. Taiwan has the Tapai 101 that goes as high  as 1,671 feet. Chicago has the Sears Tower reaching 1,451 feet. New York has the Empire State building going as high as 1,260 feet. The developers of the Waterview wanted to go as high as 65 feet. We are not exactly talking about a skyscraper in Scottsdale.

I believe that developments such as the Waterview can only help the local economy in Scottsdale. Arizona is experiencing tremendous growth and developments such as the Waterview are proof of this. It seems that these neighbors and city planners are trying to prevent Scottsdale from growing. If they continue to stop developments such as the Waterview, Scottsdale will never reach it's full potential.

What a fantastic web site.  I've been blogging for about two or three months now on a Blogger account but I have to say I really like how easy ActiveRain is to use.  I'm looking forward to getting to know this community.  A
