Thousands of Realtors gathered at this year's Realtors Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Wahington D.C. where they discussed the future of housing finance. A panel of industry experts at the expo agreed that the next administration in charge of leading the country had better have a clear plan for housing finance. The National Association of Realtors have advised that a "comprehensive" reform strategy be put into place. real estate news: Foreclosure Rates Lowest Since 2007

According to a recent report from RealtyTrac (a foreclosure listing firm), foreclosure rates are at their lowest since 2007. "Total filings, including default notices and bank repossessions were down 33% for the year to 2.7 million". In 2011, 1.9 million homes were filed for foreclosure last year which is a good improvement from 2010 (down 20%), and even better in comparison to the amount of filings in 2007.
