Economists paid to throw darts? - 05/06/08 05:24 PM
I would say that at least this month, the newspapers should rank economists below used car salesmen and loan officers when it comes to the listing of "who can you trust".  Of course all three would rank above politicians.
Well, the economists missed again with their prediction of March consumer spending.  The actual number - up 0.4% was double what they predicted.  Since consumer spending represents over 2/3 of all US economic activity, I begin to feel that they get their numbers from the "gloom and doom" newspapers.   I wonder what they will predict for the month of May....  I wonder if they … (0 comments)
