Delta Associates, an affiliate of Transwestern just reported that despite the nations downward spiral, Houston's economy is still going strong. The research group predicted 60,000 new jobs per year though 2009. This will cause office space to decline and rent go up through the end of 2008. This is great news

Houston City Council Reduces Property Tax - 11/08/07 03:11 PM
The Houston City Council voted to reduce Houstonians property taxes by one-eighth a cent on November 7th. This does not seem like a huge amount and will only save property owners $1.25 per $100,000 of accessed values of homes. On the upside, Harris County cut taxes as well by one cent.

For the eighth straight month home prices have fallen across the United States. The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales fell 8% in September. This is the largest decline since 1999. From this time last year, home prices fell 4.2%. In Houston we are not feeling the pain as bad.
