Friday, September 11, 2009 was the eighth anniversary. There were 9/11 remembrances all over Phoenix and the Valley. We chose to go out to Tempe Town Lake for the Healing Field tribute, one of nearly 300 such flag memorials around the nation.
It was heartrending on so many levels.
From Fidelity National Title Conference room, you could see the layout and the sheer vastness of 3,000 flags, representing all those lost on that tragic day.

Every year, the Phoenix City Government awards its Points of Pride in Phoenix. More than 150 locations, suggested by the public, were narrowed down to the top 32. These are locations around town we Phoenicians are proud to show off to family and friends when they come hide out from the snow during our glorious Arizona winters. The end of the year is in sigjt. To some that may be exciting, to others it might be frustrating. In our sales meeting this week I handed out a questionnaire that basically looked at what's working, what's not working. It's been a roller coaster year for many agents. You've probably worked harder than ever before, made less money and had a boat load of challenging situations to handle. Correct? We certainly have experienced all of this in our office.

It has been an exciting stormy day for us in Phoenix! About 9 o'clock this morning, we were just about to go for a nice long hike in the preserve by our house. Boom! Boom! Boom! We looked at each other and said, "What the heck is that?" Within moments we were in a torrential downpour!

Arizona State University is in talks with the city of Goodyear to build a new campus there. The campus would be part of the Undergraduate Colleges @ ASU, the university's plan to offer lower-priced degrees in a handful of majors. Lake Havasu City and Show Low are other cities that have piped up to express interest in these smaller campuses. The one sticking point is that ASU wants Goodyear to pay for the school.
