For anybody who is just visiting......I have been talking about Activerain since I joined and it wasn't that long ago( just few months). I was telling how great it is to share new ideas, talk with fellow realtors about similar interests and problems. First week of this month( April 2009) I left Century 21 Duncan & Associates and joined family of Re/Max Masterpiece. And I say family with all the meaning. I always thought of Remax offices as impersonal and big with tens and sometimes hundreds of agents that don't even know each other. Not this office. After week of being there, I felt like I knew agents, brokers and stuff for years. And we do a lot of business too . I am not bragging. I am just sooooo HAPPY.

I have this weird feeling that a lot of big companies will take advantage of this downturn and will make even more money. How?
Taking advantage of small people. And it is happening. Company that I know is not losing money( maybe making a little less than they did two years ago, maybe). But CEO still called a meeting for employees( not management, but also not entry level positions-our Middle Class) and cut everybody hourly rate about two dollars, plus cut a lot of benefits. Why ? Just because they can, just because it is so easy to explain to people" Ohhh, it is bad economy, we have to save...."
There is nobody that can fight for employees, because even talk about union brings hell from CEO, manager, supervisor" You will see, you all are going to get fired if you bring union to this place". I wonder how long it is going to take( when market gets better) for this company to bring pay and all other benefits to" Better Market Time"
