Can you believe it?  It's still blazing hot but summer vacation is already a memory for students in the Shelby County School System who headed back to class August 11th.  When we were kids school didn't start back until after Labor Day, and now that is the first holiday on the school calendar, which this year falls on September 5th.

THREE ON A STRING - 40TH REUNION CONCERT!
 

 
It's hard to believe Birmingham's own Three On A String has been playing together for 40 years now!  Yesterday they celebrated by performing two concerts at the Mountain Brook Fine Arts Center at Mountain Brook High School, joined by former members for a reunion show that was obviously as much fun for them as it was for the audience.  We attended the evening performance.....the place was packed with loyal fans from the early days as well as some, well, younger folks!
