PHOTOS OF EMMET O'NEAL COMMUNITY GARDEN Crestline Village - Mountain Brook AL
Last week I wrote a post titled Gardening and Reading Fun at Emmet O'Neal Library in Crestline Village. The Emmit O'Neal Library and Oak Street Garden shop partnered together in a project to add even more fun to the library's summer reading program! Children and their families have been working in the garden and have created a visual treat in the middle of Crestline's shopping village.
The Summer Reading Program at Emmet O'Neal Library was something I participated in every summer as a child. I read lots of books! That was a few (lol) years ago and I wish I had as much time for reading as I did back then.
This year, young readers from pre-schoolers to teenagers and their families, had fun not only reading, but cultivating a garden right across the street from the library, on a plot of land owned by Oak Street Garden (7 comments)

Meeting Scheduled To Discuss Mountain Brook Flooding Issues
A meeting to discuss plans for the next phase of the Watkins Brook Flood Hazard Mitigation Project has been set for 6:00 PM on June 1st at Mountain Brook Junior High School. There have been some reports the meeting would be postponed because of a conflict with the Alabama party primary elections being held that same day, but officials at The City of Mountain Brook chose to move the location in order to avoid a delay.

Neighborhoods Around Birmingham AL Mountain Brook Slide Show
Mountain Brook is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the Birmingham area. It is just a few minutes from downtown Birmingham and boasts some of the most beautiful homes and yards around. Okay.......so I'm a little sentimentally attached because I grew up here, but I think you'll agree that it's got a special charm. Here is a slideshow I put together, mostly of photos I took this Spring of businesses, familiar sights around the community and a few homes that I really like.
Mountain Brook AL - Gracious Living Convenient to Downtown Birmingham
Only minutes from downtown, Mountain Brook is one of the most desirable communities to live in the Birmingham area. Nestled amid rolling hills and winding, tree-lined streets, this community was developed in 1929 by Robert Jemison with stately homes built on sprawling estate-sized lots. Three shopping villages retain their original charm, while offering everything from unique shops and dining to grocery and drug stores........ Mountain Brook Village English Village Crestine Village

Homes for Sale - Cherokee Bend - Mountain Brook AL
Located in the city of Mountain Brook, Cherokee Bend is one of the popular neighborhoods in this city that is noted for its quality school system. Residents enjoy being just minutes from downtown Birmingham, but Mountain Brook has three of it's own shopping districts - Mountain Brook Village, English Village and Crestline Village. There are plenty of unique shops to explore and places to eat without even leaving the community. This wealthy community is home to two exclusive private country clubs.......Country Club of Birmingham and Mountain Brook Club.
I write about people, places, things to do and anything else that inspires me, including articles related to finance and the Birmingham area real estate market.
