Why do I have to change the way I live?

As I walked through  my clients home she asks "why do I have to change the way I live?" With every recommendation I gave she answered with an excuse why she could not incorporate the change."

Recommendation:

Please remove the large T.V. off the dresser in your bedroom"

Answer;

"I cannot fall asleep unless I watch t.v."

Recommendation:

"Remove all family photos"

Answer:

" Where am I going to put them, and why do I need to remove them they make me feel good to look at them"

Well this was a hard consultation, every suggestion was shot down with a reason why she could not implement them!!! I know that the Realtor offered my services, but this home had been for sale for 5 months with no offers and 2 price reductions! So why did this home owner feel like I was against her and not there to help her!! I know change is very hard and it was quite overwhelming for this home owner, but after almost two hours I finally got her to understand that the way you live in your home while for sale is totally different then living in your home when  not for sale.....

We staged her home using some of our rentals and using the homeowners furniture...here are the results..

Nine days after staged this home has 2 offers sitting on the table!! Waiting for the inspection to go through and I am sure this weekend I will be de-staging because it will be SOLD!!!
