In these tough days, we need ever bit of marketing help we can get.  (No news to you, I'm sure.)  The folks who are hosting my new web site have suggested that the best way I can drive new business from "never mets," is to use a system called "pay-per-click."  It is basically a way to drive folks to your web site by raising your profile on Google and other search engines.  The minimum cost is $100/month.  Has anyone out there tried pay-per-click  Any feedback? … (6 comments)

Will this stink-up my business? - 10/09/07 07:17 PM
Does anyone have any experience in dealing with companies or products to "freshen" the smell of an empty home?  I have a lovely older home on the market, but it smells a little bit like an old dog when you open the front door.  The floors are hardwood and the home has never been home to many animals, but it doesn't smell fresh.  I have spent a young fortune in "plug-in" room deodorizers, but there must be a better way.  Any suggestions, anyone? … (5 comments)

Real Estate in the Decatur Georgia area seems to be holding its own, in spite of the downturn in some parts of the City.  I recently took out some new clients who were relocating to Georgia from San Francisco.  (Talk about a mixed blessing!)  They were a bit overwhelmed by all of the choices that Atlanta offers, so I honed in on Decatur, because it is the kind of walking neighborhood that they are used to in San Francisco.  Thy were THRILLED to see how much house they could buy for their money compared to the real estate market in San … (1 comments)

Weekends, the quintessentil time for real estate and today the weather has cooperated with lower temperatures and an overcast sky to make the a "no sweat"  weekend.  I love to show off my hometown of Decatur on days like this.  If you are out this weekend, don't miss the hometown farmers market on Commerce Street.  Its location in a large parking lot has made it blistering on hot, sunny days, but today will be perfect.  If you are real estating with clients new to Decatur, park your car and take your clients on a walking tour of the Decatur Square area.  … (2 comments)

Luxury homes vs luxury rooms - 10/04/07 01:52 PM
Driving through Druid hills this morning I couldn't help but notice that the dogwoods are turning and the pumpkin sales at Emory's Methodist church have begun.  It put me in mind of my first Halloween as an Innkeeper in Savannah.  Wanting to surprise my guests with a holiday treat at evening turndown, I had the housekeepers put out little caramel apples instead on chocolate on the pillows.  That was when I found out that folks who could afford to stay at a luxury hotel could also afford luxury dental work and they were not thrilled with the possibility of leaving it … (0 comments)
