Another exciting Spring weekend is planned for visitors to Marietta Square. The Marietta Square Farmer's Market returns on Saturday and and is expected to be even bigger and better than last year. The market has an average of 58 vendors and hundreds of customers each week. Market customers have lots of variety to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables that are rarely, if ever, available from the grocery store. Also on hand are staples such as potatoes, onions, tomatoes, squash, beans, amazing cut flower arrangements, local honey, herbal soaps, whole grain breads, fudge pies, jelly, jam and preserves. Grant Money Available to Purchas Cobb County Home! - 04/28/10 07:49 PM
With the help of a Cobb County program designed to fix foreclosed homes and make them available to deserving buyers, many people are now able to claim home ownership. Cobb County plans to buy about 100 foreclosed homes and fix them up for resale in the next two years, said Allyson Price, the program manager for Cobb County's Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Cobb started to buy foreclosures last year and has already purchased 30 homes. It is selling them on its Web site: www.BuyCobb.com. The weather couldn't be more perfect for the start of the Glover Park Summer Concert season at Marietta Square. The Glover Park Concert Series kicks off the 2010 season on Friday, April 23 at 8 p.m. in and around the park in downtown Marietta. The Series will continue throughout the summer, with concerts scheduled for the last Friday night of each month through September with the exception of the June concert.
