Let Technology Save You Water and Money - 05/28/10 04:22 PM
One of our most valuable resources is pure, clean water. We pay a price to bring it into our homes, but don't always conserve it. Maybe it's time to think outside the box and see how new technology can decrease our water usage and save us money. According to the EPA, the average family of four uses 400 gallons of water a day. The same family, if they employed simple water-saving practices and lived in a home where the plumbing systems were optimized, could conserve more than 30,000 gallons per year - enough to provide drinking water for 150 thirsty people.

But, most residential burglaries occur during the day time working hours, while everyone is anticipated to be at work. A burglar does not want a confrontation with the homeowner.

Lead Paint Rules Affect Home Renovation - 05/13/10 07:00 AM
If you are considering a home remodeling project, and your home was built prior to 1978, be selective in your choice of contractors. A little bit of lead paint can endanger the health of children. It may also add to the headaches and expense of many home renovations. As of April 22, contractors who remodel and repair homes built before 1978, when leaded paint was banned, must be certified in safe removal practices and follow specific steps to prevent work site contamination.
