Annual City Appreciation Dinner - 05/23/10 03:24 PM
The City of Rochester held its Annual Recongition Dinner to acknowledge the many volunteers who commit their time helping the city.  We are turly a blessed city to have so many people helping at all levels to make and keep our city great.
This year's food was catered by Catering by Katherine.  What a fabulous dinner!  Everthing from the salad to the dessert was incredible.  The staff was outstanding and it definitely was great to have a local business cater our dinner.
A good time was had by all and I can bet that next year will be just as well … (1 comments)

NEW SHORT SALE RULES---NOT MANDATORY ONLY VOLUNTARY - 05/23/10 03:11 PM
Well, the buzz on the street today is the dreaded "Short Sale" or as noted the "Long Miserable Sale" after a front page cover story on Short Sales appeared in The Oakland Press.  The government is changing the rules and the banks will have 10 days to accept an offer.  So the banks will no longer be able to drag their feet.   Too bad this didn't happen sooner.
Wait a minute the story fails to say this is only voluntary, not mandatory.  When will this political game be over.  The bad judgment and greed of the banks and the government has done nothing … (0 comments)

Rochester's Farmers Market, Alley Conversion, Bike Racks and other happenings - 05/15/10 12:34 PM
WOW! Rochester is hopping with new businesses, the Farmer's Market is in full swing and is bringing in lots of visitors to our great city.  We are in the process of planning for the big 2012 MAIN STREET RECONSTRUCTION (that will be a challenge to say the least) and in doing so we are converting our Alleys to one-way and beautifying the downtown alleys with pedestrian friendly street- scapes.
We also installed Bicycle Racks downtown to help the Green Commuter.  Other Green Commuter ideas are on books and we can only hope that we will soon become the CITY OF GREEN.

Buyer Beware: Two Agents - One Buyer - 05/06/10 12:43 AM
Hello Future Homebuyers,
As Realtors, we have several responsibilities and a Code of Ethics we must uphold at all times.  Our first priority is educating potential homebuyers and homesellers in the sale/purchase of real estate.
A fellow Realtor encountered this today and I feel compelled to share the story in hopes to help future home buyers from doing this.
The Realtor receives a call from a homebuyer they exchange information and proceed to plan to see homes.  The Realtor emails them information, calls and speaks with them about their options, etc.  The Realtor schedules some showings on the homes the Buyer asked to see.  They … (7 comments)

Counter Offers and Verbal Negotiations ...Wrong way of doing business today - 05/03/10 10:09 PM
WOW!! Submitting offers today to offices representing bank owned properties can sure leave you questioning what is right and wrong.
Let me explain.  My clients wrote an offer on a bank-owned property, we submitted it on Monday around 12:00 p.m..  At the time of submission there were not any offers on the table.  Towards the end of the day I received a call from the Listing Agent stating that the bank countered but was unclear of the counter so she was going to ask for clarification before proceeding to tell me.  I said no problem and I waited.  The next … (1 comments)
