Are you overcoming the objections in this market? - 05/30/10 09:06 AM
"Nothing will ever be attempted, if all possible objections must first be overcome." Samuel Johnson

•·         I can't do that because ........................
•·         We will never be able to sell the house because ...........
•·         They will never be able to get financed because .................
•·         The real estate market is too bad to buy now.
•·         The economy is too bad, so I better wait before I buy.
•·         I just can't buy now because ................

We all MUST ATTEMPT in order for this market to recover.  Learn to overcome the objections.

Can we bring back G rated??? - 05/29/10 09:44 PM
I wish we could go back to the days of G rated everything for public entertainment.  Check out this video made in Belgium at a train station.  Look at how happy everyone is: young and old.

Can we get back to these days and TRASH THE TRASH in all the media, movies, games our children play, television, dvds, etc.....  We need to SAVE our country for our children's sake.

Bring G rated back!

Are you a "WORRY WART?" - 05/28/10 11:25 PM
"Do you remember the things you were worrying about a year ago? How did they work out? Didn't you waste a lot of fruitless energy on account of most of them? Didn't most of them turn out all right after all?" Dale Carnegie

Worrying is a waste of our energy.  If we work hard and focus on our goals, we CAN attain them.  We spend so much time on things we cannot control.  Why?  It is truly human nature.

Are you a WORRY WART?

Yesterday, today and tomorrow...... - 05/28/10 11:15 PM

Takes more than logic! - 05/26/10 11:42 PM
"If we were only logical, the future would be bleak indeed. But we are more than logical. We are human beings, and we have faith and we have hope, and we can work." Jacques Cousteau (1910 - 1997) French oceanographer
No matter how tough the economy is or how tough the industry is we are in, we can dust ourselves off each day and go to work for the client, and, ultimately, ourselves.  If the system is not working, we need to change ourselves and figure out how to create a new system: a new way of doing business.

SERENITY NOW!!! You will never be angry again! - 05/25/10 10:45 PM
"If you always understand that the people in your life are there for a reason, you will never be angry."
As Seinfeld characters would say for anger management: SERENITY NOW !

This is the world peace answer!  Now, all we need to do is have everyone repeat it a million times together to get through all the "THIN HEADS" and the "THICK HEADS"!

I "get it" now.  I don't feel anymore anger.  How about you?

Is it all about NOTHING? Shouldn't it be about something? Like: THE CLIENT! - 05/24/10 10:35 PM
Is it all about nothing, as Seinfeld says?

Let's look at the following groups of people:

Active Rain posters: Are there people out here who just write about nothing important to our industry?

Tire-kickers: How about the buyers who drag you from house to house for over a year and then say : "oh, I'm going to take a year off and think about it".  Is it all about nothing with them?

Sellers: Yes, they list their house with you and when you present reasonable offers, they want to think about it or they will … (4 comments)

Gratitude! A simple; powerful word. - 05/23/10 09:18 PM
"Nothing on this planet is more powerful than an attitude of gratitude."

I am so grateful for everything GOD has provided.  Life has its ups and downs, but when you focus on the POSITIVE, the small bothersome things diminish.  The news focuses on the negative, gossip focuses on the negative.  Every time you read about the real estate industry, it is all negative.  Well, how about the speaking about the 1st time home buyers who have the courage to buy and see they are making a home for their family and buying at the best time in history?  And how … (2 comments)

Do you have courage to succeed? - 05/23/10 09:05 PM
"Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's the dealing with it." Tex Randall

What are you afraid of?  Failure?  Not being able to pay your bills?  Worried about where the next client will come from?
After graduating college, my first manager told me something I remember to this day: "if you do your job well, you will reap the rewards."
Every client I meet, I treat just as important as the last.  I try to make each one feel special.  For example, I had a former client refer one of their best friends to me.  They wanted to meet this … (2 comments)

Do you care what others think? - 05/23/10 08:49 PM
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway." Eleanor Roosevelt.

Do you worry about what others might say about your words or your actions?  If you follow your heart, you should not care about what others say or think.  People will criticize you for so many reasons; all of which do not matter if you follow your heart.

YOUR life MUST have PURPOSE! Do you know yours? - 05/23/10 08:42 PM
"A life without purpose is a languid, drifting thing. Every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves .... "This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught"" !!! Thomas A. Kempis.

What is YOUR purpose in the Real Estate industry?  Is it a seller's agent ; a buyer's agent; a loan officer; a closing attorney; an appraiser perhaps?  The real estate industry allows us to help others.  By helping others, we have purpose on this earth.  What is better than that?
If you have questioned your purpose, take today to … (4 comments)

Do you write FB or Twitter statuses of where you are? READ this ! - 05/06/10 09:42 PM
STOP telling the world if you are home or not!  A local family was robbed this week when the mom posted she and her family were going away for the weekend.  They lost over $60,000 worth of possessions!

Facebook and Twitter and other social websites can be lots of fun.  A place to meet friends and to revive old relationships and keep your friends posted on what you are doing.  BUT! The thieves can be lurking.  Protect your privacy and the where-a-bouts of you and your family.

June 30th close date for the tax credit: Extension? - 05/03/10 11:13 PM
June 30th is less than 2 months away.  This is the important CLOSE date for the $8000 tax credit for first time home buyers and the deadline for $6500 for the repeat (move up) buyers.  Short sales taking 3, 4, 5,6 or more months.  REO's taking a few months to close.  The Obama administration has requested banks make faster short sale decisions within 30 days.  But this is NOT happening.

The question of "will the June 30th deadline be extended?" is getting louder and LOUDER!  I believe it MUST be extended or there will be many screaming first time home … (2 comments)
