Apple’s Top Free Real Estate Related iphone apps for Realtors and home buyers in Sonoma County Wine Country
This Christmas, Santa was very generous and gave me an iphone 3G from Apple. Ever since I got the iphone, I’ve been glued to the screen learning about its features and its many applications. My wife is probably going to take the iphone away from me soon if I don’t stop looking at it every 5 minutes! Anyway, in the interest of the real estate world that I’m a part of, I thought it would be appropriate to see what kind of apps … (18 comments)

realestate: How would you like to sell houses with this technique? - 01/02/10 02:47 AM
I found this video today that just blew my mind. The company, called NuFormer Digital Media, has a way to create 3-D images and project them onto a building using the building's multilayered features as part of the image. Now, it looks to me like you need a large surface area to make these projections, but I can foresee having this used on a smaller scale as the technology evolves. Can you imagine driving by a house at night to see one of these projections on the front of the house? Hmm. Enjoy.

Santa Rosa Home Loans - New Standardized Good Faith Estimate Effective January 1 2010
Loreena Yeo is one of my favorite writers on AR. She's very clear, honest and thorough with her blogs. If you've ever seen his pictures of the area, you'll swear he lives in a piece of heaven within the heart of the Sonoma County Wine Country! It may explain the calm and gentle demeanor Dave has with his writing style. realestate: I made it on Patrica Kennedy's GOOD list! - 11/30/09 09:01 AM
I made it on Patricia Kennedy's GOOD list!

Patricia Kennedy is a Real Estate Agent at Evers and Company Realtors in Washington DC. She spends a fair amount of time posting a nice summary of all the unfeatured blogs she's read during the week and thinks are worth reading. I've been a follower ever since I read one of her postings and thought how nice it was to read some of those blogs she's mentioned. She has made a name for herself by consistently posting her summary every week. I'm amazed by her discipline!
I didn't think I would ever be … (10 comments)

Sonoma County Wine Country, California - Cycling through the Fall Colors

Cycling in Sonoma County is one of the best ways to experience the Wine Country's beautiful countryside. I love going for a nice 25 bike ride in the morning. If I'm really into it, I'll lose myself on a 50 miler through Santa Rosa, Windsor, Healdsburg, Napa, Sonoma, Petaluma or Sebastopol. Cycling is my favorite form of exercise and a great stress reliever. I wrote about this in one of my posts called Sonoma County Wine Country Top Ten Secret's Exposed.
This year, I got to enjoy the added … (11 comments)

FHA Home Loans - Santa Rosa, CA - Top 10 FHA Loan Benefits for home buyers
I met up with a new home buyer today who asked me about FHA loans and why she should use this program instead of a standard conforming loan program. She was a first time home buyer who had meet with several lenders and was a bit overwhelmed by all of the information she had thrown at her. Since she was only putting 5% down, I felt the FHA loan was the best fit for her and gave her a top ten list of all the … (6 comments)

realestate: Comparing present homebuyer tax credit to extended version, Santa Rosa, CA - 11/09/09 02:25 AM
Jim Lee, was kind enough to put up a chart on the new extended tax credit and comment on it. Here's his post. Thanks Jim!

Below is a chart prepared by the National Association of REALTORS ® comparing the new changes to the Homebuyer Tax Credit.
The biggest change is that current Homeowners are now eligible if they sell their current homes and then buy AFTER the date of enactment of this extension which is November 6th, 2009.
Because of widespread incidents of fraud, purchasers must now attach documentation proving they actually bought a qualifying home to qualify for the … (1 comments)

Ken's summary of the different stages of approval and their value hit's it's mark. I couldn't written it any better. I always tell my agents and clients the deal is never done until the note and deed of trust gets recorded.

Thank goodness for the ability to repost. Colleen wrote this piece perfectly and I couldn't do any better, so, I'm reposting it here to share with my local friends. If you want to know more about FHA loans, click here.

203k MADE SIMPLE?
Ok, maybe not, but I will attempt to make it as simple as possible for the client to understand and want to read on.  For many of us in the business who are " in the know"  we forget that we need to go back to the basics and spell it out in simple terms for others to understand.  So I've compiled … (0 comments)

FHA and VA Home loans - Santa Rosa, CA - Inspection reports
I have to laugh. I just got asked if I actually know how to do loans because several of my last blogs have been about my geographic area and were not loan related. I've been originating loans for 18 years, many of them were FHA and VA loans, but I don't feel I need to go on and on about my field, when there are plenty of other interesting things to write about! I have seen many loan professionals in my industry with the amazing ability to crunch out pages of information … (7 comments)

realestate: And so the journey begins... - 08/21/09 03:32 AM
Where do I even begin?
My friends have encouraged me to start writing down what I know about real estate lending to practice my writing skills. I've spent 18 years in the lending industry and have managed to survive several down cycles thanks to my connections and referrals. Almost everyone that I've worked with has come back to me because they've felt I've been able to simplify the complex journey of home ownership. As we all know, that's not an easy task.
Even though, I've been able to verbally educate my clients and speak in front of a large audience of … (4 comments)
