Presenting the Offer ... Under the Strangest Conditions! - 11/25/07 08:51 PM
I prefer to present my offers in person to the listing agent and the homeowner.
There's one offer that stands out as most unusual in my mind.
The appointment had been scheduled 24 hours before I was to present the offer.  The homeowner would be there, as well as the listiing agent.  The fact that other agents and interested parties would be wandering through the home was unbeknownst to me.
Yes, that's correct.  The listing agent allowed, or perhaps specified to other agents, to allow showings to occur DURING THE PRESENTATION OF THE OFFER.  I did excuse myself during the appointment to contact … (7 comments)

Mountain Lakes, NJ Real Estate Sales Report – October 2007 - 11/23/07 10:40 AM
Mountain Lakes, NJ is an exceptionally gracious location to call "home."  The area was developed by Herbert J. Hapgood, an ingenious and resourceful developer during the early 1900s. Mountain Lakes was originally a vacation community, where residents of New York would seek to beat the summer heat.  However, the rail station, completed in November 1912, pushed commuter's buttons sufficiently to consider making Mountain Lakes their home. The Arts & Crafts movement was a strong influence on Hapgood when he began building.  Most of these homes are still standing today...a testimony to the superior construction and consistent appeal.
