I have been discussing the current foreclosure and short sale situation in real estate with many people. People who are in trouble financially, people who are worried about losing their homes and people who are just curious. I am a Certified Distressed Property Expert and many call me to get help in selling their homes or getting their loans modified so they can stay in them. What is a short sale? Basically, if you have to sell your home and you can't get enough money from a buyer to pay off your mortgage... and you don't have the funds to clear (9 comments)

Background on the "revised" Tax Credit Signed into law last year... the $8,000 tax credit was extended to first-time home buyers who purchase a home between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010. In addition, a $6,500 credit is available for current homeowners who have owned and used the same home as a principal or primary residence for at least five consecutive years of the last eight years and who purchase a new home as a primary residence by April 30, 2010.
