I just wanted to say thanks for all of the help and support of the active rain members.  This has helped me to understand how everything works.  I have more than doubled my business in the past three months, because of the advice and support of everyone.  Thanks for the help and hope that I may help any of you in return. 

I recently had someone apply for a loan with me.  They were also checking out another mortgage company at the same time to see which is better.  They were very happy with the numbers I gave them, but the other companies number was a little better.  They went with the other company, but I got a call form them yesterday and they asked how soon they could refinance with me because the other company conviently forgot to add in their yearly taxes which can make a major difference.  They have told many people about my company but the other company they sre still bad mouthing I have got three laons and refi's from their friends, because of my up front knowledge and support even if they didn't sign with me.  They have know applied for a refi through my site and are very happy.  They even sent me a basket of homemade cookies and treats for my kids.  This just goes to show you that honesty is always the best policy.  Thanks for your time in reading this, and any responses will be taking into account and a thanks ahead of time for them.

Just to start I would like to ask you a few questions.  I am in a fairly new business and am trying to just let people know that I exist, and was wondering if there is some home magazines or papers in the different areas of the country that are good at generating traffic?  I have been doing some research on my local market but would like to reach out a little farther.  I would appreciate any ideas or information in advertising and what some of the costs that may be included.  I own a mortgage website and it is top of the line and would like to spread the word to others around the country through advertising in local papers or magazines.  I know it has worked locally and would like to spread the word out there.  I think that in using the local prints I might get the word out to the people who may need a little help.  Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know of any good papers in your area and if they are a good generating print.

Something I have learned is that we are more than just lenders we are friends.  I think i talk to my customers more than I do any of my friends.  I am just as comfortable talking to them as anyone.  As a business some people think that we are here just to do a job, but I believe that we are here to be friends.  Most of my friends are customers also and most customers have become my friends.  There will always be a a mutual friendship between business and friends whether our friends use or business or with our business we meet new friends.  Friendships are something we value today and the more we understand that friendship the better off we are I can't remember a time when I have not made new friends during a business deal.  That is something I pride myself in is the friendly enviroment and the friendly conversations.  I believe that friendships make a business along with the proper knowledge of the business. 

I recently posted a blog about two different way to market my company.  I got some great responses that really helped me, but know I've got anothere way to really get myself out there.  I just don't know who or how much it may cost.  I can purchase a commercial for around 1000.00 or a little more, but have no idea who to talk to or how much T.V. spots cost.  Does anyone have previous experience with t.v. advertising?  I would like to learn the ropes of this considering I have 350+ residential lenders, and 1270 commercial lenders around the country that can help a lot of people in need of the perfect loan.  I would really appreciate if anyone was willing to give me a few pointers on this subject.  I believe that my company could really help alot of people and would like the chance to let them knkow I exist.  I plan on doing a postcard drop but am not sure if my money would be better spent on T.V. or maybe even radio spots instead.  Please feel free to let me know any ideas or suggestions you all may have on this subject.  You all have been a great help to me thats why I keep asking for advice. Why do we love what we do?  I know that I enjoy the company of all the faces that I see everyday.  I also enjoy the conversations.  Yes I also enjoy the money, but the money could be sat aside and I would still enjoy it.  Obviously we are all here for the money to feed our families and cloth and house.  I don't do it for the money I do it for the look on a firsttime buyers face when we say approved with a payment they can handle.  I can't explain the joy on there faces through words but I know you have all seen it.  Drop me  line and let me know why you do this.  Then remember a happy client is the only client I want.

I was wondering the best way to advertise to a broader market.  I have a few ideas I would like to pass by all you rainers.  I have a advetising business that says they can give my site over 100,000 hit a month for six months straight, but at a significant cost.  Have any of you ever had experience with an internet adveritsing firm, and is it worth the expense?  I also can purchase postcards that will be specifically sent to people with expressed interest in buying or refinancing their home.  Here is some of the postcard views.
