The proverbial straw - my LAST stand with Wells Fargo Banking! - 10/31/11 09:16 PM
Argent has had a Wells Fargo account for 3 years now, after Compass Bank was giving us a lot of trouble over our Merchant Services account (taking Credit Cards). The first 2 years were pretty unextrodinary; business as usual. I don't know what's gotten into them, but customer service has TANKED, and it seems like they are looking for any possible way to make a buck. Mysterious "Service Fees" started showing up on both our Argent and personal accounts; I have had to go into a branch twice in the past 6 wks, and Nathan once - they changed the minimum (5 comments)
We had a full day today, furnishing a Vacation Condo in the Sienna Community of Scottsdale, as well as picking up some Rustic Southwest Furniture from the southwest side of Phoenix. Driving home, we saw an amazing sunset at Camelback Mountain - can you guess how it got its name...? ;) I'm seeing the FB and AR postings from people in other parts of the country - let me just say, "all the grass is green here, and it's sunny and 85f. How soon can you get here....?". (7 comments)
Finally, great news, the latest version of the Retirement Visa for Canadians we have been lobbying for since the fourth edition of The Border Guide in the mid-1990s, has returned. Over 15 years, Bob Keats personally had countless meetings with US Senators and other political figures, immigration attorneys and Chambers of Commerce. Many readers of The Border Guide have written letters to their local politicians and Chambers of Commerce to try to get this Visa. The (3 comments)

I wish I had taken this photo before I started unpacking the truck and trailer today, but.... If you've ever wondered how much debris comes from furnishing a 2 bed + den, 1600sf Vacation Home.....now you know. All the boxes are broken down, except for the ones that are full of packing material. This install in Kierland was "Furniture Only" - we would have much more debris if we fully stocked the kitchen, cleaning supplies, etc.... Note the bed of the truck has stuff, too! By the way - our warehouse has a recycling bin courtesy of Waste Management (4 comments)
ON NBC RIGHT NOW! Dateline is checking up on repairman scams in Scottsdale, AZ! - 10/17/11 12:14 AM
If you are near a TV, turn on NBC (Channel 12 on Cox in Phoenix) immediately! Dateline NBC has a homeowner in Scottsdale on board; she had professionals come in and make minor altercations to her working pool, A/C, garage opener, and water heater. Now repairpeople are coming through and being tested - it's not going well.....one tells Chris Hansen, "Shouldn't you be catching pedophiles instead of messing with &%#! like this...?". Must-See TV, indeed! (2 comments)

CENSUS DATA: Maricopa Co. (Arizona) tops the list for home vacancies - 10/07/11 04:51 PM
2010 Census reports are rolling in, and according the the article on AZCentral, Maricopa Co. (Arizona) had the highest percentage of vacant homes, condos or apartments among the 10 most-populated counties in the country. This is not surprising based on the number of foreclosed homes, results of over-building during the "boom" years. The most shocking stat to me was that 227,696 dwellings were reported as "vacant" when the 2010 Census was conducted. By comparison, the city of Tucson has about 230,000 rooftops - so there are as many vacant homes/condos/apts in the Phoenix area as there are total units in (2 comments)
