Many of you know that I work with several animal groups. These groups are very dear to my heart and I try to support them in every way that I can locally and nationally. One of my favorites is Best Friends Animal Network. Best Friends has deployed to Asia and is setting up rescue and shelter stations through out the area. Please join me in providing help for the rescue and sheltering of these displaced animals. Many are owner owned and need a place to stay. They can not always take their pets with them, nor can US citizens take their (1 comments)
Give and you shall receive. I truly believe in those words of wisdom and you should too. Yes, it is a challenging time for all. But let’s not forget those who are in worse shape than we are. Think about it… we each have our own story to tell. We are all trying to do the very best that we can and keep positivity in our lives. There are always others who are worse off than we are. Can we offer that positivity to others? You bet! It is (9 comments)

This wonderful sanctuary is in foreclosure and many area supporters have tooted their horn to promote funding for this exceptional animal ranch that gives these creatures a forever home to live out their life. Local Veterinarians, volunteers, and area businesses have donated their services to this very unique ranch that offers dignity, and love in the final years of life. A great (10 comments)
animals: ActiveRain in the spotlight :: Will you help a Chance for Bliss?

I recently did a blog here on AR for a local non profit animal sanctuary called "A Chance for Bliss". We have been noted in their newsletter as "Active Rain (the largest real estate network) friends to help the sanctuary." Lets' show them the true (4 comments)
I am calling upon my ActiveRain friends to stop just for a moment and think about how you can help others this season. We have over 162,962 members. Can you just imagine if everyone just donated $1 this year to help an organization? Even by breaking into groups( ie: Realtors, Stage it Forward, The Art of Marketing You, etc.), we could make a huge difference in many different non-profit organizations who are struggling. These types of organizations depend soley on donations. Most have no paid staff and rely exclusively on contributions. The smaller, local organizations are being the hardest hit. (7 comments)

animals: Note to self... only have non-shed animals.
- 06/21/09 05:50 PM
I don't know about you but my animals are shedding up a storm. My note to self is really just a wish. I surely wouldn't trade any of my pack... but, the nightly grooming could be extra time on AR don't you think? Honestly though... I wouldn't trade it for the world. Mocha, Canine... Catahoula mix. OMG... he sheds every minute.
Chablis, Canine... Lhasa Apso... whooopeee! no shed, but loves to be brushed.
Rebound, Feline Tortoiseshell... another daily shed machine.
Shpeetz, Feline Black Short Hair... not too bad, but a daily endeavor.

This is a story about "Spark", ID # 30, Block 1, cage 6. He was picked up by Animal Control as he was running from the Butte Rim Fire near Paradise California. He is a 4 month old shepard mix, full of puppy love and adorable. We first met Wednesday morning June 23rd, as I am an Emergency Animal Rescue Service Volunteer (EARS) and was deployed to help with the care and maintaince of the evacuated animals. This trip, I was stationed with the dogs.... all 57 of them. From pups to the elderly, they all seemed to be handling the stress (25 comments)
