I LOVE MY CLIENTS!

We all can go to the office, and listen to the horrible client stories our fellow Realtors have. I always feel so sorry for them when I hear their insane stories. We will all be touched my those clients that make us wonder why we are in the business.... IF we do not correctly prequalify our clients at first, and setting expectations up front can often help with those unfortunate experiences. I encourage all of the Realtors out there to prequalify your clients!

ALL THE BEST!

I adore it when a client & I walk into a home, and say, "this is the one!" It always seems like both me & my client know when this happens! Today was one of those days, so I want to commend every Realtor who looks for those homes for their client like I love to do! Remember it is never about us! It is always about them!!!!

Shift your income!

I always love getting Gary Keller's perspective on things. We need to shift our daily lives to achieve where we want our personal goals to be. Sometimes our small thinking gets in the way of much bigger things! I do not think anyone gets into real estate going, "Hmm. If I make $1000 a month that will get me by for a week of the month." So why do so many of us do this? It is called we can not multi task the way we should. Time blocking is key!

I wish you all the best while you shift your income, and learn the keys to time blocking your day!

Getting those buyers & sellers!

As Realtors we often times forget to put ourselves out their in the community. Being a secret agent in FBI might work; however, I find it hard to believe that the real estate community has room for people who are not active in their community! My advice to those people is get out while the getting is possible. Real estate is not for those who are afraid to meet new people! So my advice to all of you is get out in the community, and see what can happen! I hope your all making today count, because you will never have this day back!

Back up offers

This is actually something that seems to be getting very popular in my life! This weekend I wrote a back up offer on a one of a kind beautiful historic home! My buyers are in love with! I do not think there truly is anything out there more perfect for them, and they feel they exact same! However, the morning before we got the listing agent our offer they finalized a contract. After the listing was on the market for 4 days!

So, I wanted to get a community of response for you all of you to tell me about your best back up offer stories. My buyers need to feel like there is still a chance.

Thanks for your response!

How creative should we get?

We all want to have closings. However, I believe there is a huge difference in Realtors from how we all feel when we leave the closing table. My biggest fear in my career as a Realtor is having a client have to foreclose on a property. I know there are many industries involved, but that is just my personality. The struggle I have is how creative should we be as an industry at large helping people get to the closing table? I think this is something we as an industry must take note of, regardless of the economy. I want the world to know I will do my best to uphold this throughout my profession, and I just have high hopes others will as well.

Building your business during the market shift

Hello everyone. Sorry I have not posted anything recently; however, we all know how life sometimes gets in the way from time to time. Life events will always happen, and we must reshift our focus from time to time.

I have been told numerous times, "I feel so bad for you, because you got into Real Estate at the wrong time." The people that makes those types of comments are also the ones that like to invest in stock when it is at its peak. This is a great time to be in Real Estate, because you are getting rid of so much of your competition! We all know things in life will fluctuate; because, nothing in life ever has true balance.

Right now you will see some of the best of the best Real Estate stars being born, and I will give it my all to be one of those best of the best that will be unstoppable in the next 5 years.

Things here in Birmingham, Alabama are still going well. People buy houses here every day. So, the shifting market is just that a shift. This is another reason I love being with Keller Williams, because my company is at the forefront of helping the committed Realtors build our business during the shift. Our education has never been better!!!!

LET GO!

I am a huge fan of John Tesh, and so I subscribe to his newsletters. I read an article concerning success, and thought it was something I needed to share with others. Here is a little background about me first. From the time I could actually form sentences I said, "I want to be an attorney." For 23 years of my life I seriously had no other career path, so I got my associates degree in Paralegal, and then Bachelors degree in Political Science. Then decided to take a year off, and work in a Law Office. Best decision I've ever made, because I hated it!!!! After that point I took a step back, and determined I would much rather deal with happier people! So, I decided real estate would be my best decision!

Now that you are caught up on my story I thought I would share the big idea from the article. Basically we hold ourselves back by living in what we wanted from the past. I sometimes sit back & think about how law school would be, and where I would have went... So, I am in the process of getting rid of all of my legal books, school materials, etc. Hopefully this will work, and in the end will make me more successful as a Realtor.

I want to be the one in charge of my success, and I do not want anything to hold me back. I hope the same for you. Hopefully this philosophy will help you with your business as well.

All the Best,

A Step Above the Secret!!!

I have been A "Secret," fan for years. Even prior to seeing & reading it. However, I have found something to bring new passion to my love for the secret. As Realtors I believe we as an industry sometimes tend to allow things to be more negative in life than they truly are. So, I have a new rule for everyone I deal with in life. For every negative thing someone tells me I make them say 5 great/positive things they are dealing with in life. So far, it has helped my own attitude, and I believe it will help those around me as well.

I am currently trying to do my best to change the Real Estate market in Birmingham, AL. So my question to you is what are you currently doing to help the market you are working?

Positive news for Birmingham, AL

Greetings to all. When everyone keeps saying how horrible the market is should look, and know the truth. CNN Money Report had this great information about Birmingham, Alabama. What they have found shows this great city is better than anyone likes to report! Way to go Birmingham!

10 Fastest-Growing Real Estate Markets

Yes, even amid the housing crisis, parts of the U.S. are still expected to post price gains in the coming year, according to Money Magazine. Here's where to look.

The housing implosion is nowhere near over. In 75 of the 100 top U.S. cities, prices are expected to fall in the next 12 months according to Fiserv Lending Solutions.

The S&P Case/Shiller Home Price Index, which tracks 20 of the largest housing markets, showed prices plummeting by 12.7% in the 12 months ending February. That's the biggest fall since the index began tracking prices in 2000.

Meanwhile, foreclosure filings more than doubled in the first three months of 2008, spiking 112%. So far this year 156,463 families have lost their homes to repossessions. Many markets won't hit bottom till late 2009 or even 2010.

Pity the residents of Stockton, Calif., whose homes are likely to lose more than half of their 2006 value. But if you happen to live in Texas -- or any of the other cities below -- congratulations: The housing tornado passed you by.

Smile, because it always helps.

Unfortuantely we will all have closing that do not reflect the service we wish to give all of our clients. However, it has been my experience if we stay as positive as possible with our clients we will change their mindset, and then they will think the service was amazing. As an industry our reputation is not the best; however, I challenge all of you when dealing with your transactions/ life issues to smile (on the phone, in person, etc.). It does make a difference, and please treat your clients like they matter. Make your transactions memorable, and make it look as easy as possible.

I wish great things for you all, and hope your smiles are coming naturally today!

How bad is Birmingham, AL Real Estate????

Last month sales in Alabama increased 11%. However, it is hard to get this news. Why you may ask? People never want to hear about the good things, because by human nature you turn on the news.... That is where so many of us do wrong. Numbers are picking up, and people should try to get out of the rainy day fog. However, mind shift must be the biggest change in everything. Yes, there have been hard times, but no economy is perfect! Did you hear me? NO ECONOMY IS PERFECT! In the U.S. our economy has been very strong for decades, and a slight shift is going to change all of that. The best thing for people to do is there own research, and stay in the know by what your data research shows not the news station or paper. They are typically great for setting yourself up for a bad day. However, knowledge is power. So use caution when determining your own personal facts.
