Sunday/What did you do to relax yesterday? - 07/21/08 04:51 AM
Yesterday I wrote about Sunday as a day of rest and how hard it is for most Realtors to find time for themselves. Several people commented about how difficult it is in this business to take a day off. One comment said, maybe next year I'll find time to take day off.
Well how did you spend your Sunday? Did you find a little bit ot time for yourself and your family?

Guess I screwed up yesterday when I submitted my blog, Sunday/Day of Rest/Day of Leisure. I checked the box at bottom of this page--This is not my content but I have permission to repost. As soon as I did I realized I made a mistake, but the blog was gone to the airwaves. The material, every word was mine I just answered the question incorrectly. This morning I had a note from the activerain admin department telling I did a blooper, a bad thing. What I wrote was all mine I just answered the question incorrectly. Yes right! I said Day of Rest/Day of Leisure. If you are like many busy real estate agents, you spend most of your weekend with clients or hosting an open house because that is when the buyers/sellers are available.
Is it possible to have time off in our chosen field of real estate and still be successful? YES, YES, YES. But it takes a bit of work and dedication to make it happen.
My advice to new and experienced agents was to work three weekends per month AND schedule one weekend for yourself … (3 comments)

•o During my years as office manager, I wrote frequent memos to my agents. They were affectionately called Mary's Memo. So I plan to continue the tradition by calling my blog Mary's Memo
•o Sometimes we used the Memo as a discussion starter at our weekly sales meeting
•o Mary's Memo will be short blurbs on various topics of interest to real estate agents

I tried "retirement" and I tried ...
•· Lunch with friends
•· Visits with family
•· Outings with the grandkids including Chuck E. Cheese
•· Thoroughly cleaned my house
•· New recipes
•· Trips to the library & getting "lost" in a good books
•· Shop until I dropped over the holidays and beyond...
•· A vacation in the sunny south and Caribbean cruise
•· Shoveling snow and more snow just for exercise, of course
•· Flowers and yard work, etc.
•· First mate duties aboard our 28' Marinette, US'N TWO, with my retired Navy captain husband, Dave
